Delaware State Fair Announces 2009 Concert Lineup

Big names and diversity will be highlighted in the Wilmington Trust Grandstand at the 90th Annual Delaware State Fair from July 23rd-August 1st, 2009.
“This year we have created the most diverse grandstand lineup that we have ever seen at the Delaware State Fair”, says Danny Aguilar, Assistant General Manager and Director of Marketing for the Fair. “We are offering a little bit for everyone from country music to pop, from rock to comedy, we have it all this year.”
With a different set of performers, fair officials are also announcing and selling tickets much earlier this year. “We are going on sale with our concerts in waves. The first on-sale date is Saturday. March 7th at 10 a.m. for Kelly Clarkson and Jeff Dunham. We hope the change to a Saturday on sale day helps to make the ticket buying process more convenient to our concert patrons”, says Mr. Aguilar. Online buyers can purchase their tickets at www.DelawareStateFair.com.
There will be two Demolition Derbies during the ten days of fair. The first is on Thursday July 23rd at 7:00 pm with the finals taking place on Friday July 31st. Tickets for both derbies go on sale March 28th with ticket prices ranging from $10-$12.
On Saturday July 25th at 8:00 pm fans will experience a “Spark of Insanity” with comedian ventriloquist Jeff Dunham. Ticket prices for Jeff Dunham are $40 and $45. Tickets go on sale March 7th.
Brad Paisley will be making at stop in Harrington on his American Saturday Night Tour along with Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne on Sunday, July 26th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale March 21st; prices will be $50 and $55.
David Cook will perform on Monday, July, 27th at 7:00 pm with the Gin Blossoms. Tickets will be $30 and $35 and go on sale March 21st.
Demi Lovato will be performing on Tuesday July 28th at 7:00 pm on Nemours Health and Prevention Service’s Healthy Kids Day at the Fair. Tickets go on sale March 28th; prices start at $28 and go up to $32.
Performing on Armed Forces Day, Wednesday, July 29th at 7:00 pm is Darius Rucker with Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough. Ticket prices range from $28 to $32 and go on sale March 14th.
Katy Perry will be performing on Thursday July 30th at 7:00 pm. Tickets go on sale March 14th and can be purchased for $28 and $33.
Kelly Clarkson will be performing the last night of the fair on Saturday August 1st at 7:00 pm. Ticket prices are $40 and $45 and go on sale March 7th.

Oh, man! The Gin Blossoms! This would have been awesome...back in 1994!
I bet they know tickets wont sell as well this year which is why they're on sale about 2 months early. Probably the only one that will sell out early is Brad Paisley.
Oh and as much as I like Jeff Dunham, the tickets for his show are overpriced.
