Ash Wednesday today

Ash Wednesday is today, the beginning of the Lenten season (the time leading up to Easter)

No I am not getting religious on everyone.

Fasting and meditation are a part of many religions and cultures. Secondary benefits include the building of discipline and character in an individual.

Just something to think about.

I think it's an excellent Post and reminder.

Another thing to think about. Instead of making a sacrifice by giving something up, why not do something more? Sometimes it is harder to do more than it is to do less. Be nicer, help others, volunteer, go out of your way for someone. Actually go to church instead of just talking about it.

Hmmmm....I guess I could give up sbynews for Lent. Uh, no.

mata, what a wonderful idea! Helping others is a sacrifice only of your time, and very nourishing for the soul.
