BARACK DOES BALTIMORE -- WITH INDICTED MAYOR DIXON (?)

Obama inaugural planners say they have not finalized plans for his appearance Saturday in Baltimore, but local officials appear to be planning for a speech in War Memorial Plaza that afternoon.

Shuttles from satellite parking for President-elect Barack Obama's whistle-stop visit to Baltimore will start at 11 a.m. to the plaza, which is in front of City Hall, a Maryland Stadium Authority spokeswoman confirmed.

Details about the visit, including the time and duration, have not been released by the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

If you go: the current forecast is for a high temp. of 29 degrees F.

A limited number of Commemorative gift cards will be available for purchase. It's the perfect gift for your favorite elected Maryland official. Each card will contain an image of the Baltimore City seal, the Maryland Builder's Association logo, and imprinted with "It's for the poor" in bold letters.

I don't see anything about Dixon in there.

Do you have to convict Obama and all of Baltimore for Dixon's acts?

Boy, talk about guilt by association.

BUT, if he hangs with her, I'll be pissed since she's no better than Blagojevich and Obama said he should step down.

Sorry, Joe...I put the "p" word for "angry" in there...can you just delete the word?

Why should the voters of Baltimore be denied the opportunity to meet Obama? I'm sure it's a sticky whickett but the people deserve to have the opportunity.

Hanging out with crack smoking hookers didn't stop Marion Barry from getting re-elected. If he was still mayor would that mean that Obama should never visit Washington?

Go ahead, call me a kool aid drinking, tree hugging flaming liberal LoL I'll take my butt whoopin' like a man!

Dixon Brunt Of Jay Leno Joke

BALTIMORE -- Mayor Sheila Dixon made headlines Monday night -- as the brunt of a joke by Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show."

Leno's monologue is yet another measure of how far the fallout from the Dixon indictment extends, 11 News I-Team reporter Jayne Miller said.

Leno added the mayor to the list of current accused politicians.

"The mayor of Baltimore, a woman named Sheila Dixon, has now been charged with 12 counts of felony theft, perjury, fraud and misconduct in office. The good news -- she's now eligible to become the mayor of Detroit or the governor of Illinois," Leno said.

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is facing criminal charges for trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama's Senate seat and former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is in prison in a case that involves lying about an affair with his chief of staff.

Dixon was indicted Friday. The I-Team said newspapers all over the country carried the story, including in Seattle, L.A. and Santa Fe, as well as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

In a number of cases, the headline grabber of the story was the allegation that Dixon stole gift cards that prosecutors said were intended for needy families.

On a brighter note, the most talked about Baltimore story across the country this week was the Ravens playoff run, Miller reported.
