Is Comegys Rubbing Off On Everyone Else Now?

Someone called the Police from north Walmart that someone had parked on yellow line with no handicapped plaque or tags. A friend went over and snapped this picture before the Police arrived.

He saw a guy sitting out front so he pulled up and asked him if he had called the Police? He said, yes. He then said, well i just took a picture and then asked him if he read Salisbury News? He said, hell yea!! I said well when i get home I'll send this to Joe. Hence the photo and article.

This is NOTHING NEW! There is always someone parked in that spot, weather they are waiting for someone or weather its just someone who parked their, Its an on going problem. Maybe the police needs to monitor that area more often just to rack up on their monthly ticket quota's.

The Salisbury Police Department as well as the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police is to damn lazy to cite illegally parked vehicles. Why would they want to give someone a citation for abusing the same laws they do. People park everyday in every fire lane and handicapped parking space in the city of Salisbury. When there are no parking spaces close to the front door I am going to park illegally as well.

anonymous 10:55...then i hope they catch you next time, and you get the ticket.

When city council members can park illegally WHY should the rest of us give a hoot where we park? At least he wasn't right in front of the doors like they do at the Fruitland Walmart or like they do at All of the Food Lions in town. People around here have no respect for those yellow lines anymore. The other day I dropped my wife off at Food Lion behind a very well know person thinking she was in the car waited for a couple minutes for it to move and she came out of the store and jumped in like it was her own personal parking spot. I would love to see these kind of people to use the parking lot the way it was designed. There is good reason for them to have all the lines painted out there its to park between !

see now Im the guy that parks all the way in the back so no one messes w my car and when im come out everyone has parked their car and carts right next to my car. Ever see the Seinfeld episode where Kramer turns a 4lane highway into a 2lane for extra wide roads (hahaha) thats what the parking lots should be like there never all the way full anyway.

@ the south salisbury walmart I was heading for a great parking spot the other day, down a one way lane (heading twards the store) there was a spot open and the everyfrom I was maybe 20 yards from the spot when an unmarked sby cop car pulls in the wrong way and backs up into my spot.... I was so ticked off but yeah their not going to waste their time giving tickets for what they do, I agree (10:55)

You are right , the police don't enforce the parking issues at any
of the shopping centers. The fire lanes are full of cars and trucks.
Seems to me a meter maid could pay for it's salary in a few days.
Of course this is too logical!!

Drive by Delmar Pizza anytime and cars are always parked in the fire zone. People are too lazy to walk a few feet from a parking space. Delmar police don't do anything about it! Hope they never have a fire on a Friday or Saturday night!

In the Fruitland Wal-Mart parking lot there is one spot which has a sign that reads "Police Parking Only". I have yet to see a police vehicle there. There are vehicles that park there with and without handicap tags or plates. Can't they read?

I always park in a spot when picking up from Delmar Pizza, or stopping by the bank, or anywhere, even if just running in for a second. I figure I need the exercise. I think they should just do away with handicapped spaces, or limit to 1 or 2. There are way too many at Wal*Mart and many places. Go to rite-aid for instance, they'll be 7 prime parking spots (handicapped) empty while the rest of the parking lot is nearly full. If you are able to walk/hobble/wheel into Wal*mart and browse the acre of merchandise, you can walk an extra 25 feet in the parking lot. Here's a tip, if you can't make it from the car to the store, you probably should have had someone else run the errand for you in the first place, or gone along as a passenger hand have them wheel you in the store. Many of these people with injuries would be rehabbed if they weren't so lazy, walk the extra 25 feet, you'll feel better in the long run. Quit sitting in your recliner watching Dancing with the Stars, and exercise. You're not going to get any better taking pain meds and sitting around.

anon 8:13 has it right. I hate when cars stop and wait because they see someone getting ready to move out of a parking space close to the store. I have a handicapped placard which I use only on days when I really need it. Get out of your cars and WALK a little, people, instead of holding up traffic while you wait for that prime parking spot, and stop wasting gas while you continuously circle the parking lot to find a spot that's close. A lille exercise won't kill you.

8:13 a.m.-you reap what you sow my friend. I see a walker, wheelchair, some kind of walking assist device in your future! Your pompous attitude leaves me furious. I am healthy and able to walk, but I know several people who have difficulty with it. They still have the right to go out shopping if they so wish too. Would you like to stay cooped up in your home all the time and never go anywhere?

Everyone has their problems. Quit thinking you're the worst off, there are always people more injured than you. You should work with your disability and not expect handouts. My point is try, try harder, don't just accept your injured. If you work harder at rehabing yourself you might find your self in a much better position. My neighboor had knee replacement surgery a month ago and is out walking/hobbling 2 hours a night and getting much stronger.

Comegys set the bar. So if he can park in an unauthorized spot and not get a ticket-well, that can be used as a precedent should I or anyone else get ticketed for that infraction.
Yep, if the people at the top of the heap can't set a good example, it just trickles down. Another example of how our society just keeps on going down the tubes. Apathy, self-entitlement, NO Responsibility, and No consequences.

No offense cuz because there ARE diasabled persons out there-but the ailment of most of the people I see using handicap spots AND those handy little motorized shopping scooters is morbid obesity-Im not talking a 200 lb housewife or something I mean ginormous "guiness book" sized people wearing tents.
Theres a subtle difference between an old person with arthritis or broken hip and someone my age who is just too damn big to move.
While we are talking about old people-if you want to see some nifty parking lot fender benders just go to Walmart and watch for a while-its always some old guy or old gal in a HUGE Crown Vic or Buick( so they dont kill themselves when they hit your car!) and they are oblivious to the fact they rammed into a parked car two or 3 times until onlookers detain them. They deny it get mad and try to drive off-its true!I have witnessed two of these fender benders and both times the old party tried to take off.Just as bad as drunk drivers!

4:12 pm...im overweight and disabled, and i find your comment offensive. Obesity is a health problem just like heart disease ..stroke and more. Be more sensitive to people.
