This Just In: Wicomico River

"Joe,

I just noticed that the dnr, army corp. of engineers and some other large boat are on the river near brew river. Could it be about the north prong? Or sewage plant?

The large boat is the j millard tawes out of Annapolis, I think it’s a dnr vessel, but not sure."

The Tawes is indeed a DNR vessel.

It's a big pile of crap from the sewage treatment plant

Its actually a large piece of wood that is submerged. The tug boats keep hitting it.

No conspiracy? The government is actaully fixing something? Someone in public service is doing something right? Damn....

The river dredging?

Anonymous said...

...I saw filing cabnits....maybe all the City records Barrie was trying to destroy

I certainly hope they don't dredge again. One time years ago they dredged so far under the bulkhead that the earth fell in behind the bulkhead. Don't believe me? Take a look for yourself.

They are not dredging. The grain barges were hitting an object when coming out of the North prong. The Army Corp of Engineers, divers from DNR and Salisbury located and marked the object last week and this week it was removed.

Why would the barges only hit the so called object coming out of the north prong and not hit it coming in with a full load and more weight?

The J Millard Tawes is the icebreaker assigned to Crisfield and also is large enough to have support equipment to service bouys thus it was called to remove something. besides they needed a training exercise excuse and a lunch at brew river

Atlantic Marine Construction located near Whitehaven has a barge with a crane, why didn't they use them?

Anonymous said...

Anon 7:50 they didn't use a local guy because navigable waterways are maintained by the USCG, ACE and DNR.

Anonymous said...

they just put a crimp in the plot to shut down the north prong. The mayor could of used the "we cant remove the object in the water that is damaging the barges" theory. Thank them folks for removing the obstacle and keeping the prong open.
