The Big Issues

Have you ever noticed that character and judgment are considered off-limits for Democrat candidates?  In 1992 we were told that these weren't valid matters for discussion when we had to worry about all of of those "Big Issues".  Of course, those very same issues (character and judgment) were what crippled the Clinton administration in its second term.

Barack Obama is attempting the same tack.  Granted, there are no accusations of womaninzing (that I know of).  Far more disconcerting than Clinton's use of cigars is Obama's world view and the people who helped form and promote that world view.

Our Red Maryland colleague Mark Newgent has a superb piece on this issue.  Obama's complete lack of candor regarding his relationship with an unrepentant domestic terrorist should disqualify him from the Senate, much less the Presidency.  His relationships with a pastor who seems to hate America and with groups who support a socialist, if not Marxist, agenda should at least give pause to our evaluation of "The One".

G.A,
I used to respect your polticial opinions, because they were rooted in a philosphy that, while different from mine, had legitimacy. Now that you have fallen into McCain/Palin's line of smear campaigning, I have lost that respect. To suggest that Obama is some sort of secret terrorist who allies with terrorists is not only ludicrous, it is shameful. Congratulations for adding your voice to the most dishonorable campaign in modern U.S history.

By your logic applying the six degrees of separation method, no one in the country would be qualified to be President. This is a desparate long ball strategy by a campaign left in disgrace. Have you noticed the Obama/Biden campaign hasn't stooped to these tactics? Both McSame and Palin have plenty of associations that are at least marginal and in some cases down right radical. This stuff doen't work anymore. Check the scoreboard.

I look at this video, and see Obama as someone who is trying to help the local community.

It's had to see his charitable work in a negative light.

Work it guys.

For starters I never said that Obama was a terrorist. Does he associate with an ADMITTED, UNREPENTANT domestic terrorist? Absolutely.

What I question is his judgment and his world view. I'm not talking about 6 degrees of separation, or even 2. I'm talking about Barack Obama.

Do you honestly respect his world view and the world view of his associates? If so, may God have mercy on us all.

The circle of hate that surrounds Obama is unacceptable. If this was any other candidate with ties and lies like the Obama campaign has, the Dems would be shouting as loud as they could from the top of the hills. It would be much more than what the McCain camp is saying. I guess Hillary and all the other opponets to Obama are wrong as well.

Listen folks, this is more than just an organization helping schools. Just like the drug trafficers and organized crime set up business fronts to hide the underlying criminal activity, I believe this is much of the same. The redirecting of millions of dollars to other hate groups instead of going directly to the schools shows the true intent of all involved.

Wake up America! The future is looking bleak as long as we let these criminals take charge of the highest office in the world.

Mardela, you really need to take a tranquilizer. Perhaps you would feel better if you took a moment to think about whether the world really is as awful as teh scaremongers would like you to think it is. Is it possible they have ulterior motives? Be wary of anyone who tries to instill fear to make you vote a certain way. Bush did it for 8 years, it is time to stop it.

Joe, everyone has an opinion. I feel your political opinion needs to be "toned down" some. Those of us who have had respect for you & your blog are getting a bit tired of the constant "razzing", and respect for you is starting to "slide". I know you're a nice guy, please try to speak with more maturity then I've heard lately.

Apparently "the one" doesn't like being called "the one". Well, who started it anyway? He also doesn't like being called his name, barack Hussein obama.
Seems to me he can't have it both ways, though he continually tries.

Puleeze!
There isn't anything "they" can "pin" on McCain & Palin, BECAUSE NOTHING exists. If it did, you can believe they would. Nice try, but give us all a break & get your head out of your butt. Your thinking is for S***.
