Salisbury Kennel Club To Receive Proclamation From County Council Tomorrow

The County Council will be presenting the Salisbury MD Kennel Club with a proclamation making 20 Sept 2008 Responsible Dog Ownership Day in Wicomico County.

County Council and County Executive Of Wicomico County, Maryland

WHEREAS, There are more than 74 million dogs owned by families in the United States, who enjoy the affection, companionship and loyalty of "man's best friend;" and

WHEREAS, The privilege of ownership also brings certain responsibilities for the welfare of a pet that is totally dependent upon its owner; and

WHEREAS, The Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club will join kennel clubs across America to raise public awareness by demonstrating obedience training, promoting safety around dogs and grooming and preventive health tips during its annual event to be held at WinterPlace Park.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IF RESOLVED that the Wicomico County Council and the County Executive do hereby proclaim September 20, 2008 as

Responsible dog ownership day in Wicomico County, Maryland and encourage all citizens to support the educational efforts of the Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club to promote mutually rewarding relationships between dogs and their owners.
