More Traffic Problems Caused By Geese

Joe,

This morning there was a goose sitting in the South bound lane of Rt 13 at Priscilla St. blocking traffic. SPD and WCSO was on the scene. I managed to take one photo that came out. At first I thought she was helping people save gas by making them slow down or stop. Further investigation her mate had been killed and was in the grass behind her. They mate for life and she was staying near them. A Fireman assisted the goose was removed and all was well.

"SPD and WCSO was on the scene"

Obviously this was more than SPD could handle by themselves.

Rush hour traffic, Dangerous intersection, 1 officer was assisting with the safety of the officer trying to move the goose. I watched the officer walked up to the goose and she didnt want to move at all.

Too bad we can get people to commit to life together forever. Get rid of a lot of greedy attorneys.

I have noticed a lot less geese this year. I never minded the wait to watch them waddIe across the road, that's why I like it here. I will agree at one time we just had too many, now there are just a few, if they keep addling eggs there will be none at all.

Out of 12 hatchlings or so only a couple make it to adulthood. Shoot, I saw a crab pull a baby duck under, turtles eat them too, baby ducks and geese.

you may see a few less right now, wait a cpl more weeks as the yng learn to fly, every ditch n pothole has a flock. The gov put a ban on hunting geese for 10yr, now look, geese are like hogs, they eat everything, they leave no other food for other waterfowl. I love waterfowl but to many...there will be a disease and it'll take more than the geese with it....kinda like the govenment, when it gets to big it destroys everything, maybe we're addling the wrong eggs.....

Those geese are nuisance. They eat one pound, and crap 5 pounds. They aren't cute. They just crap anywhere and everywhere. The Mayor has taken care of polluting the Wico River; we don't need the geese to assist.
