In Just Two Years

Part 1
In just two years . Remember the election in 2006?
Thought you might like to read the following:
A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold fo r $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

Quote of the Day........'My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it.' -- Barack Obama

Part 2:
Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html
Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates

It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

PART 3: You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this:

Boy am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS. I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the U. S from the Southern border. Verify at: Homeland Security Report: http://tinyurl.com/t9sht

And you think the Dems are to blame???

Sorry. The seeds of the economic were in place before they took office. There's a really good piece in this morning's NYTimes about this exact subject (Paul Krugman). Interestinf to note is that he doesn't drop all the blame on Bush either.

As for the immigration mess, Bush put up the welcome sign for illegal aliens and they came streaming over the border. There's no way you can dump this on the Dems either. In fact, it seems that it's only the Dems that have a ghost of a chance to fix this mess.

As for the rest: The piece is out of date. Seems like it was written 6 months ago. Get some new material...

Don't forget that the president has also vetoed bills, like the one to boost Veteran benefits.

Instead of both parties working together they continue to point fingers. Who was that man in The Grassy Nolle?

This makes me sick to my stomach. I am proud to be a conservative republican. We need to shut the gates and focus on our domestic problems.

I have an idea, let’s do something simple:

Cut off all foreign aid to those that don’t help us in return. We live in a country that loves quit pro quo. If we give you aid, we better be getting something back. (Remember that tsunami a couple of years ago. We had Marines and other assistance on deck within a very short time to help rebuild. They didn’t want our help but we stayed anyway to help. That’s Bull Shit!!! What a waste.) Here’s another good one. Geez, we have given democracy to Iraq whether they wanted it or not, which is consistent with our eagerness to invade into other’s business. Those people hated the dictator they lived under so much they jumped for joy at the mere presence of American service men and women as we invaded their country knowing that we were there to kick some Saddam ass. We (America) are the only reason they are now free, now how bout a little something in return. Like hum, gas perhaps. I bet if gas was under $1 per gallon, you (Anti-war demonstrators) wouldn’t bitch about the war in Iraq.

Close the borders of our country, temporarily. Ever been to a restroom and a sign is hanging on the door that reads “Closed for maintenance”? Well, hang one of those signs on our borders. Don’t let anyone else in until our problems are worked out. When we are cleaned up, re-open the borders. Anyone that wants to come into this country will be retina scanned and will be tracked easily by that scan while they are here. You say that it’s in invasion of privacy to be tracked by a scan. Well, guess what, don’t come here then. For you Americans that do feel that way too, we are being tracked too, just not by being physically scanned. Every time you use your debit/credit card, it tracks where you are, what you bought, and when you bought it. If you think that information isn’t being tracked then you’re crazy. Once their visa expires, Bye, Bye. If they want to come back they can go through the process again. If they commit a crime of violence while here, then guess what… C-ya… automatic trip home, never to return here, without a trial. (What I would really like to say here is automatic death penalty, but I don’t want to offend you liberals out there. Remember I’m conservative)

And while I’m on the topic of trials. I spend a lot of time in the court room. I can’t stand it when the Judge explains pre and post trial rights to a defendant that I personally know is not a legal citizen of this country. My ears feel like they are going to bleed when the Judge says: You the Right to an attorney, you have the Right to a trial, and the worst is “If you are found guilty it could adversely affect your status to be a US Citizen”. Well maybe if they really wanted to be a US Citizen they shouldn’t have committed the crime in the first place. How does a person that is not an American citizen have these rights? I bet that if a Judge did deny those rights the ACLU would jump all over it. Which is an oxymoron since I do believe its American Civil Liberties Union? Not “Jump in your shit because we can Union”.

Drill in Alaska for oil. We are at a point where we need to focus on ourselves and stop supporting economies overseas. But it should be mandated that a reliable alternative to oil is in place within 10 years. Why are we using technology that is over 100 years old anyway?

This crap about healthcare is really getting old too. A couple of weeks ago I was present when Andy Harris spoke to a small group of people. He stated that the oil companies are the ones to blame about the high cost of gasoline. Then he blamed the illegal immigrants for the high cost of healthcare. NOT!!!! Doctors like Andy are the reason for high costs of healthcare. They set their own salary just like CEO’s of oil companies do. I am no doctor, and I am thankful that doctors are out there, but come-on, how much do they really need.

I could go on and on…

I think the illegals have alot to do with the cost of health care... not all of it but you have all these people that have kids on assistance and they use the ER as a Doctors office not to mention if the adult goes to the ER most of the time the bill is never paid. Do a search in California and see how many hospitals have had to close because the illegals aren't paying their bills

More fear mongering by Joe. It must be hard to be a puppet of Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and Lou Dobbs. President Bush and his administration are the reason we are in the economic mess we are in. Senator Phil Gramm -R was the one responsible for the deregulation of the housing market and the commodities market. Oh and he is also McCain's economic advisor. To blame illegal immigrants for all of the problems in this country is insanity. I am sickened by the outright racism that illegals face -- especially in Wicomico county. Mexican has become the new "N" word and it is disgusting. As for Sgt. Hamilton's claim that they and doctors are the cause of skyrocketing health care -- get real. The "free market" set up of HMO's and insurance companies are to blame. Doctor's work day and night, go through 12 years or more of education and in my opinion deserve to not have to worry about making ends meet. It costs a great deal of money to run a practice that can support a family. On top of that, declining reimbursement rates from insurance companies and the government and rising malpractice insurance premiums mean tighter times for doctors. Do you want someone whom you entrust your health/life to to be struggling...

Oh and we didn't give democracy to Iraq. We falsely invaded and destroyed a country that we didn't have the slightest understanding of. After we destroyed the infrastructure, we didn't secure the area and chaos ensued. Blame
Bush and his incompetent administration. And to support the troops, end the war.

Also, drilling in ANWAR is not necessary. The oil companies have hundreds of thousands of acres leased to explore that they have not even tapped.

Don't be a puppet -- Fox News is propoganda for the right wing.

The fact of the matter is the democratic party has vanished. Well...with the exception of Joe Liberman maybe. There is now only Right vs Left.

Liberals love to seduce immigrants over the border as long as they don't squash an extinct plant on their way in.

They want all Americans to depend on the government for food, shelter, health care and education. Meanwhile, our kids sit thru Muslim conditioning and within the same week they get suspended for bringing in the Holy Bible and saying a prayer before a test.

They don't mind abortion because to them overpopulation of human beings is destroying the earth's ozone.

The liberals will never help to lower gas prices either. Now that people are driving less and purchasing OZone friendly vehicles Liberals are in their glory. Next thing we will see in the news is how the decrease in travel this year has stopped the melting of a glacier! Maybe it will star Al Gore in mittens and snow booties!

They look up to Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy and Jimmy Carter. Carter only gave away the Panama Canal, Kennedy only killed a woman while drinking and driving and Clinton is too stupid to know what the meaning of the word "is" is. Clinton actually thought his supporters were stupid enough to believe him or maybe unethical enough not to care.

Liberals can justify their unethical leaders by accusing Bush of lying about WMD's being in Iraq. Why would Bush have not lied (again), and said they found the WMD's and destroyed them???

The fact is that Liberals hate America more than the Taliban.

Scott's right and so is anon. 2:50but looking at this thing from standing back, this is what I see. The far right and the far left are destroying this country by ignoring it. They waste more time and energy trying to point their fingers at each other than doing the business of the people and nothing gets done.

Yes we need to drill for more oil to get us through this while we work diligently to find other sources of energy that will shore up national security by making us less dependent on other nations.

Yes we need to cut taxes and we can do it while efficiently running our nation by cutting out the billions we send to other nations. Not to mention the single largest waste of American taxpayers money (outside the U.S.) - the U.N. Sorry but we have children here without food and clothing. Charity starts at home. We can also let hospitals be financially solvent by eliminating the laws that force them to treat illegal aliens with no insurance for simple everyday illnesses that everyone else goes to the doctors for. Those hospitals and doctors must pass those losses on to other patients if they want to stay in business.

I don't care what anyone says, illegals, including those with anchor babies, are an incredible drain on our economy. Problem is that those on the far right are of the impression that they can get cheap labor and those on the far left think they will get them the right to vote then get their votes. Meanwhile, 88% of the American ppl think the border should be closed yet it remains as open as it was ten years ago. Both major political parties are completely ignoring the American ppl and the American ppl let it happen time and time again. To be honest it sickens the sh*t out of me. We don't have to let this continue. We have to start out on a grass roots level and put people in office that respond to the will of the people. (provided that the will of the people doesn't violate the U.S. Constitution)
