Who's The Better Man?

Sergeant Crowley, the sole class act in this trio, helps the handicapped Professor Gates down the stairs, while Barack Obama, heedless of the infirmities of his friend and fellow victim of self-defined racial profiling, strides ahead on his own.

This picture becomes a metaphor for ObamaCare. The elderly are left in the back, with only the kindness of the Crowleys of the world, the stand up guys, to depend on. The government has other priorities.

This image will have genuine resonance. It captures something that older Americans in particular can relate to. The President presses ahead with a program that will tell them to take painkillers instead of getting that artificial hip.

At every stage of the entire Gates affair, Obama has provided a revealing tell. The "acted stupidly" blunder revealed that he automatically blames the police and thinks they really are stupid to begin with. It didn't trigger a single alarm bell in his mind as he figured out what to say.

Without his scripts, Obama is no longer the master performer.

Salisbury News Makes The Huffington Post Too!

If you do a simple Google Search on "Kratovil Effigy" it will quickly bring you to thousands of Sites where the image featured on ABC Nightly News last night is also shown elsewhere around the world. Hence yet another Record Day for Salisbury News.

The image is making its way around the entire World and we're enjoying the additional Press/Hits.

"Perfect"

There was a perfect man and a perfect woman. They met each other at a perfect party. They dated for two perfect years. They had the perfect wedding and the perfect honeymoon. They had two perfect children. One day the perfect man and the perfect woman were driving in there perfect car, they saw an elf by the side of the road, being the perfect people they were they picked him up. Well as the perfect man and the perfect woman were driving with the elf, somehow they got into an accident. Two people died and one lived. Who died and who lived?

The perfect man, because the perfect woman and elves are not real.

What's Hollywood to Do?

Over the last eight years we saw Fahrenheit 911, Syriana, Redacted, Rendition, Stop Loss, Lions for Lambs, In the Valley of Elah, and a host of other movies released about the U.S. war on terror and the Iraqi conflict. The general theme was that George Bush lied and so destroyed the Constitution and put us into Iraq, where we are waging an amoral war, among other unmentionables.

Are there additional such movies in the pipeline? After all, U.S. policy under President Obama has largely adhered to the Petraeus/Bush plan in Iraq; Obama actually accelerated operations in Afghanistan where losses are spiking. Renditions and tribunals continue. So do Predator strikes, as well as wiretaps and intercepts. Guantanamo, while not in the daily news as before, remains open. Have suddenly, say, between November 2008 and today, the above policies changed in any measurable manner, or, was the furor simply that the policies per se were never the problem, just the person who implemented and oversaw them? Take him away, and presto, the same policies become fine — and thus no longer warrant the best and brightest in Hollywood to offer much needed exposés?

All of which poses the question: What is Hollywood to do now? Do a hit piece on Panetta's CIA? Obama and the new opium war in Afghanistan? Robert Gates's unlawful Pentagon? The back-room deals of Hillary Clinton at State? In nine months, we went from lions to lambs?

Live Swine Flu Ingredient In Vaccine

Joe,

Here is another excellent article on the coming swine flu vaccine. Remember, the corporations who manufacture vaccines have now been given complete and absolute immunity from damages caused by their many "untested" vaccines. The discussion about "shedding" live virus which occurs after injection, may lead to an increase in the number of people who get the virus! In particular, because they will use a live vaccine variety, those who choose NOT to get the vaccine will be in eminent danger.

The Bigger Question Is, Who's Footing The Bill?

Joe,

I'm sure water fees are a nominal cost for irrigating the lawn at the Wicomico youth and civic center, particularly after the recent deluges.

They could do a little better in these tight times to check if it's working right. Every morning on my commute, I see the same errant lawn sprinkler unit GUSHING water over the sidewalk and cascading down the street to the nearest storm drain.

To see it makes you wonder. Alas I don't have a camera to shoot and send. Just cruise by any morning at 7 AM or so to see for yourself.

Price Accepts President Obama’s Invitation To White House To Examine Health Care Proposals Line-by-Line

Washington, Jul 30 - Republican Study Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-GA) today sent President Obama this letter accepting his invitation for Members of Congress to visit the White House and go over the proposals for health care reform line-by-line.

The letter reads:

Dear Mr. President:I am delighted that you have extended an invitation for Members of Congress to visit you at the White House and go over the proposals for health care reform line-by-line. Please consider this letter my formal acceptance of your invitation.

As a practicing physician for over twenty years, I have witnessed both the great need for health care reform as well as the negative effects that government intrusion into health care has had on patients. The time for health care reform has certainly come. Unfortunately, the approach being pursued by those who control Congress will only compound the errors of government-run health care. I have great concerns that the House bill, H.R. 3200, will further remove from patients the ability to make their own personal medical decisions, and according to the Congressional Budget Office, it will not address the issue of costs.

Your invitation is particularly welcome as several Members of Congress from your party have publicly admitted that Republicans have been shut out of House negotiations on health care reform. This is all the more disappointing since House Republicans have offered alternatives, including the Republican Study Committee’s Empowering Patients First Act (H.R. 3400), that would both empower patients and reduce costs. I look forward to this opportunity to engage in a truly bipartisan discussion about health care reform, and I await further details of our upcoming meeting with great interest.

Sincerely,

Thomas Price, M.D.

Member of Congress

Russian Attack Subs Patrol Off U.S. Coast

Military officials monitor movements of 2 nuclear-powered vessels

WASHINGTON
- Two nuclear-powered Russian attack submarines have been patrolling in international waters off the East Coast for several days, in activity reminiscent of the Cold War, defense officials said Tuesday.

U.S. Northern Command would not comment on the Russian submarines' movement. But in a prepared statement, Northern Command spokesman Michael Kucharek acknowledged the patrols and said the U.S. has been monitoring the two submarines.

EURSHALL MILLER’S COLLISION CENTER ANNOUNCES CHILDRENS DAY WITH UNDEFEATED BOXING CHAMP FERNANDO GUERRERO

Eurshall Miller’s Collision Center Welcomes Delmarva Residents to Join the Fun

DELMAR, MD
– Today, Eurshall Miller’s Collision Center announced the introduction of the first annual Children’s Safety Day on August 15 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at 9154 Ocean Highway in Delmar, MD 21875. Fernando Guerrero, the undefeated boxer and humanitarian to the community from Salisbury, Maryland joins Eurshall Miller’s Collision Center to teach children safety in a fun and exciting atmosphere. Fernando will be available for autographs, photos and media interviews.

The Wicomico County Sheriff Department will be on hand with a K-9 demonstration. The K-9 demonstration is designed to illustrate the skills and technique used by the K-9 teams on a daily basis. The unit will give both children and adults the opportunity to gain knowledge and ask questions about the K-9 Unit and their wealth of safety knowledge. This demonstration will encourage children to build trust with officers and to learn anti-drug awareness.

The Delmar Fire Department will be onsite to discuss fire safety. Plus children will have the opportunity to tour their fire truck, which will be on location during the event.

Child car seat safety will also be included in the event’s schedule. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 80% of child restraints are used incorrectly. According to National Safe Kids Campaign, nearly a third of children ride in the wrong restraints for their age and size. Recent data from the Crash Injury Research & Engineering Network indicate that inappropriately restrained children are nearly three and a half times more likely to be seriously injured than their appropriately restrained counterparts. Car seats reduce the risk of death by 71% for infants and by 54% for children ages 1-4, and reduce the need for hospitalization by 69% for children ages 4 and under. National Safe Kids Campaign and NHTSA Child Passenger Safety Technician Program Participant Manual pg. C-4

Eurshall Miller’s Collision Center, a strong supporter of child safety, wants to help. To help, the Wicomico County Health Department will be on hand with information about car seat safety. This information is very important and can save the life of countless children. Eurshall Miller’s Collision Center welcomes the community as well as news media to attend and get safe!

Border Crossing

A guy was traveling through Mexico on vacation when, lo and behold, he lost his wallet and all identification.

Cutting his trip short, he attempted to make his way home, but was stopped by the Customs Agent at the Tijuana border.

'May I see your identification, please?' asked the agent.

'I'm sorry, but I lost my wallet,' replied the guy.

'Sure, buddy, I hear that every day. No ID, no crossing the border,' said the agent.

'But I can prove that I'm an American!' he exclaimed. 'I have a picture of President Obama tattooed on one butt cheek and apicture of Vice-President Biden on the other.

'This I gotta see,' replied the agent..

With that, the man dropped his pants and bent over in front of the agent.

'By golly, you're right!' exclaimed the agent. 'Go on home to Maryland .

'Thanks!' he said. 'But how did you know I was from Maryland ?

The agent replied, 'I recognized the picture of Governor O'Malley in the middle.'

How Do YOU Feel About The Library?

Joe, perhaps you would consider writing an article about the re-location of the library.

It appears from what I have heard, and what is in the paper this am. that a huge mistake is about to be made.

One of the largest, and most valuable (I am an appraiser-but it is a no brainer that parking lot 10 is valuable due to visibility and location, much less it's size) piece of property in the "old town" part of the city.

As I hear it the director of the library wants the site and the bobble heads are willing to go along. In my opinion this is a true show of stupidity. 100% stupid. Children walking on one of the busiest corners in the city, (traffic stops for no one there) check it out with your camera. events for kids and parents would be impossible. The city is trying desperately to "revitalize" and will do so with the help of the current Mayor and the businesses, the Urban Salisbury group and other really knowledgeable people.

It is more than obvious that the director of the library is not a business person, nor are the three council persons who voted for the site. (don't know if it was a work session or a council meeting) think a work session.

Please Joe, I think this is preventable, and it is rivals the fire station in its stupidity, and probably cost. A good business person does not give away one of its best assets to a "non profit" first of all, and secondly a good business considers business, first, and the knowledgeable persons in the community and the intelligent business persons on the council, and the Mayor have suggested that it is not a good idea, that there are other sites that would do just as well, perhaps better. I agree.

Obama 'Joker' Picture Pops Up In Los Angeles And Across The Internet

You might not expect liberal Los Angeles, of all places, to be ground zero for anti-Obama sentiment, but that appears to be the case with a new, apparently grassroots campaign in the city. Posters have been spotted on utility poles and walls around town, depicting the president made up grotesquely as The Joker, the infamous Heath Ledger character in "The Dark Knight," with white face paint, dark eye shadow and smudged red lipstick. The word "socialism" is printed in bold, dark letters under the image of his face.

Nobody has come forward yet to claim responsibility for the posters, which, of course, only adds to the mystery and fuels Internet speculation.

Congressman Frank Kratovil Under Fire At Town Hall Meeting

Talk about a bunch of people upset with their congressional representative!

Freshman Kratovol, our representative for the first District took it on the chin all day today and still never seemed to get it or get over it. People do not want this government run option. Over 75% of Americans have said so. As if that is not enough, hundreds poured out to events all over the shore from Snow Hill to Salisbury to tell him so. His attempts to tell people that he was undecided because of a few key issues in the bill, seemed to be translated to "I'll vote for it if I can quell a few concerns" were met with boos and strong opposition.

His last event of the day was at Mardela High School, was supposed to be a town hall format, but when we arrived, there was a number system and a lottery to see who might be able to have the opportunity to speak to the hired hand. It appeared he had taken some measures with security and face time with his district since the 1 o' clock meeting at the UMES Extension Office earlier that day. There wasn't any sherriff or police officers at the earlier event.

When we arrived to Mardela's High School, hundreds were in line before us. Finally under pressure of the number of people who turned out, the congressman decided to face the crowd. For that I give him props, even if I do think it would have been political suicide for him not to face his tax payers, and employers.

He was met with some pretty well informed individuals who had studied the bill in depth. Perhaps more than the congressman himself. He fought to keep control of the meeting as seniors and young people both pointed out issues such as the provision to make private insurance illegal, end of life counseling, the out of control cost of this bill, as well as the cap and trade tax and the the "bail outs" he voted for along with numerous other issues with the current forms of the healthcare bill. Many referred to specific pages of the bill. Frank appear to have some contempt at these voters and tax payers, and at time got visibly angry at the crowd, when they questioned him and spoke out.

What I felt was a bit odd was the manufactured stories Kratovil repeated over and over again from meeting to meeting. He mentioned repeatably how his sisters' sick child was living over seas and came to Maryland for treatment and how he, (Kratovil) as a prosecutor was somehow smarter than everyone else. As if credentials as a lawyer as something good these days. I found this all extemely disengenious especially having heard it 3 times in a row.

Frankly, Frank, what really pissed me off was your handler Kevin. Kevin surely was the same guy I spoke to on the phone a few days ago that decided it was his position/duty to debate me as opposed to reporting my views to you the congressman. Kevin, tonight once again decided to debate me but this time publicly, regarding Krotovil statement that he had better health insurance coverage previously in Queen Annes' County as opposed to his current State coverage (federal) and wouldn't allow me to ask a question, even though I spent four hours today, taking time from my job, as a private citizen, to try to speak to the congressman. He was full of contempt for the whole room. He was particularly rude to me as he wanted to privately argue with me but refused my question to the congressman. The room chanted "let her ask her question" over and over but he went on to someone else.

I don't know where all the people were that are supporting and urging this so called reform, but they didn't come out to ANY of the meetings on the shore today.

We have plenty of pictures and vidoes to come. One of the most charming was Kratovil telling a soilders son that was maybe an 8 year old little boy, all about how many soilders commit suicide. That's a real winner we'll have up soon.

Let's see what the Washington Post, ABC News, and The Boston Globe have to say Wednesday, as they all interviewed us.

Countdown With Keith Olbermann Fails To Give Proper Credit

When ABC contacted me yesterday they had done their research and realized after reading the article in the Washington Post that the photo was credited to Salisbury News. Clearly Mr. Olbermann & Co. are in too much of a hurry to give credit where credit is due.
