The Old Mall Meeting Tonight At Dove Point

Their presentation was over in about 15 to 20 minutes and then they took questions. A couple interesting things were brought to light 1) The planned density is STILL 800+ which seemed to suprise a few and 2) There are several 6 STORY buildings ( I assume condo units) planned and this seemed to get the crowd stirred up.

There were over 100 people (some candidates Cannon, Pretl, and City Council President Mike Dunn) but mostly general public.

Considering the amount of people showing up for Forum's lately, I'd say this was a Grand Slam Home Run for Linda Kent & Co. Great Job!

Break Time Billiards, Salisbury's Best Kept Secret!

Last night was another HUGE success at Break Time Billiards. While we were playing around with my digital camera, some of the photos didn't come out in JPEG format and I'm trying to change them so I can produce more pictures.

Nevertheless, Charles Jannace was a no show as he was probably at Church asking for forgiveness for ever becoming a Politician. LOL (You have to see some of his latest Posts and even comments to understand that).

Folks, If you've never been to Break Time Billiards, trust me on this one, it's a great time. I have been involved and around the Professional Billiard Tour since 1980 and I have been playing Pool most of my entire life. I used to own a chain of Upscale Billiard Rooms on the East Coast and I like to sometimes credit myself for becoming the first true Upscale Billiard Rooms in the Country.

That being said, I've been in many Billiard Rooms in my day and this place is just fantastic. My Billiard Rooms were more family oriented, (no alcohol) and even though Break Time has a Bar, the Staff there are a fantastic group of people and you don't feel like you're in a place like a Bar. Here's where the biggest secret comes in though. Break Time Billiards is expanding and although their menu is out of this world, it's about to get even better!

I have yet to have a bad meal there and that's a tough thing to do when it comes to my being so picky. Last night I had a Chicken Chesapeake Sandwich and OMG! Jennifer had another Crab Cake Sandwich and again it was so good she finished the whole thing, meaning it's a BIG chunk of crab meat and that's hard for her to do! Get this, they have a TV at every dining table and they're now opening a brand new section for non smoking that is completely enclosed. I think they did that because of our Cigar Club, LOL!

If you've shied away from Billiard Rooms because you grew up thinking there was gambling and a bad crowd there, that's a thing of the past Folks. These people are in business to survive, not to make certain customers wealthy by hustling people. It's a whole new era in Pool and you should get out and try it. When you get your final bill and see that it's extremely inexpensive to go there and play pool you'll come back here and thank me for the tip.

In closing, Friday Nights and Saturday Nights I would think it's more like a Bar than anything else. Keep that in mind when you decide when to go. If you want to relax and play Pool, remember that Sunday's are 1/2 price Pool and that might be a good start to test the place out? Let me know how you like it?

Joseph House Food Drive

Hi.

Volunteers are needed in the Camden neighborhood area to participate in this year's annual Joseph House Food Drive.

For those of you not familiar with how the drive works, volunteers walk the neighborhoods about a week before the canned goods collection, placing plastic collection bags and a flyer at each house on the street. On the day of the drive, those volunteers revisit those streets, collecting the canned goods in the bags that have been placed on porches, then take them to the central collection area, which has been the parking lot at the Civic Center in past years.

It's easy! It's something that a family with kids can have fun with, distributing the bags, then collecting the filled ones. It's also a program with a great history, collecting literally tons of canned goods annually for those who are served by Joseph House's programs.

My children and I (and some of their friends) in past years have had the opportunity to serve our community in this charitable drive. We had a great time doing it as a family outing, spending the Saturday morning doing our collections, then spending the rest of the day together doing other fun stuff. For those kids with public service requirements for school, it's a really great, healthy and easy way to knock off a few of those hours. Certificates of volunteer hours completed are given to anyone who needs them.

Kids of Honor is a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping children graduate from high school and continue in their educational pursuits. Kids of Honor enhances existing youth programs while forming positive connections between the children and their families, communities and schools.

Like Puppets On A String

Do you remember being a small child in grammar school and the ugly lady in the bright yellow jacket with that squeaky annoying voice would yell out, everyone line up in order and make a straight line?

She's Back! OMG, unbelievable! I was attending the Grand Opening of the Neighborhood Services & Code Compliance Headquarters and Police Substation, (I can't wait to call there and listen to someone answer the phone and say that in one breath) while everyone was instructed to line up like good little puppets and listen very carefully while the Mayor did her thing.

DO YOU THINK SHE HAS A CLUE BY NOW THAT SHE'S WEARING THAT YELLOW JACKET AGAIN? Nevertheless, Tom Stevenson did a fantastic job with this project and I was truly impressed. If you've not been there, it's worth a visit to see what good things can be happening far more often once this Mayor is out of Office. It's about building a strong community and working together to make things right. In Barrie's case it's all about the Developers!

It will be so nice answering to Mayor Brenda Colegrove verses Barrie Tilghman. I can see the light people, can you?

It's a cute little device but it's extremely unscientific and unreliable for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that the cookie it places on your computer is good for only one day. That means you can vote once everyday. Caveat pollster."

WRONG! Not On My Site Anyway!

You see, if you run the "FREE" version and you don't pay for the service, (like we have) Hadley is absolutely correct, you can vote once a day. However, when you PAY for the service it allows you to control how many times a person can vote and mine is set for one vote, per person, per YEAR on each poll!

Perhaps they might want to purchase the program and get this same luxury?

Last Night's Forum

Last night was simply mind boggling! Before most people had arrived I noticed there were only two name plates on the table, Rick Pollitt and Ron Alessi. Charles Jannace was there before any of the County Executive Candidates and I could see he was ready to rumble.

That being said I walked up to the man in charge and I asked, where's Charles Jannance's name plate? He replied, who? I smiled and said, very funny but seriously, where is it? He replied, Mr. Jannace has not been invited tonight and we do not accept him as a legitimate candidate. I replied, that's BS and you know it. He replied, who's backing him? I replied, the Citizens of this County are, this is ridiculous!

I went and expressed that they were NOT going to allow Charles to participate to those entering the room and each and every person was upset. That is, besides Joe Ollinger, that is!

They started going over the rules and I walked up to Mr. Pollitt in the front row and tapped him on the shoulder and said, Rick, this is your time to shine. He looked confused and I said, they're not going to let Charles participate and very loudly Rick replied, WHAT! This was within 10 seconds of them bringing the candidates to the table.

Once they asked the candidates to come forward Charles Jannace walked up to the table, noticed there wasn't a chair there for him and he simply walked back to the front row and grabbed a chair. While doing so they said, Mr. Jannace, you have not been invited to this forum and we do not consider you a legitimate candidate as you are not supported by a particular party.

Charles stopped in his tracks and said, I most certainly have been invited and you're the one that invited me. He replied, no Mr. Jannace, I did not send you an invitation. Charles immediately responded with, I can provide a e-mail directly from you proving of such if you'd like. (UH OH!) He then referred to the President of this group and he repeated what the first Dee, Dee, Deeeee said but ended with, if the other candidates agree to Mr. Jannace participating that would be fine.

They then turned to Mr. Pollitt and asked him what his thoughts were and Rick said, with all due respect I am a guest here. However, I do in fact consider Charles Jannace a legitimate candidate and I welcome him to this forum. CLASS ACT! They then turned to Mr. Alessi with folded arms and slouching in his chair he replied, OK.

Mr. Ollinger, get used to this because I don't give a damn how nice Charles Jannace was to Mr. Alessi this morning in his post, this was BS and this type of political game is going to end by the demand of the Citizens! This is America, NOT the Good Old Boy System! I have had enough of your games personally and as I respect Charles Jannace as a man, he was far too kind and I will work even harder to stop you people from pulling this crap any more!

Ladies & Gentlemen, like Charles Jannace or not, he's busting his tail trying to do everything he can to get his message across to ALL of you! Getting involved so late in the game is a VERY difficult challenge and each and everyone must respect his efforts and support allowing him to at least speak. Blackballing him is going to make ALL of you look bad. Look, those blackballing him have already made up their minds who they're voting for. They're OBVIOUSLY scared to death of the Charles Jannace message because it makes sense and they do NOT want you to know it and or hear it.

You've NEVER seen a candidate come up with such an aggressive platform and believe me, this guy wants to truly make those changes. I do not agree with everything Charles Jannace says but again, agree with him or not, like him or not, it's going to make the other candidates deliver similar packages or they'll simply fail. We just need to hear ALL of them and hold these people accountable to their policies.

Give the man a chance and stop running scared Alessi/Ollinger! Now come out of your corners and fight fairly! Oh, Mr. Alessi, thanks for being a gentleman last night. Your decision certainly makes you look like a gentleman for once and that's a great thing. You're still an Idiot though. LMAO!

Justice For All Missed A Great Opportunity

On a recent Poll on Justice For All, Charles Jannace threw in several people "he" thought might make a good Mayor in the City of Salisbury. However, I firmly disagree.

Brenda Colegrove is eligible for retirement in two years folks! This is by far the most honorable person I have come to know in Salisbury. She knows even more about the City than the current Mayor ever will! My vote would be for Brenda and I believe all of you should encourage her to think about it and ultimately run for Office!

A Major Victory For The Write-In Candidate

The powers at the Pinehurst Elementary School forum tonight refused to accept Charles Jannace as a legitimate candidate because he didn't have a party backing him. Charles refused to accept that, pulled up a chair, and had a seat at the table. He stated that he had a letter of invitation, but they denied ever sending such email. To resolve the issue they turned to the other two candidates to see how they felt. Rick Pollitt said "Although I am a guest here I do believe Charles Jannace is a legitimate candidate and I welcome him to the forum." ... they then turned to Ron Alessi and asked his opinion... Ron's response with arms folded and a smirk on his face was "OK"....

Does Size Actually Matter?

OK Ladies, we're talking about the sign here!

I know Charles Jannace has been agressively out on Rt. 13 waving to the Public as well as John Cannon. Has anyone seen Ron Alessi doing so and or Rick Pollitt?

Schedules are tight and everyone seems to be trying hard to be everywhere and you have to wonder, will the yard signs and billboards actually make a difference in this race? Two weeks and counting people!

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE!

After just 32 minutes into the City Council Meeting Charles Jannace had enough. At least he had his handy palm pilot and played Pac Man the entire time. LOL

Several people made remarks about why Charles didn't get up and speak and instead left? You'll just have to ask the man himself because I truly don't have that answer. My guess, his batteries wore out.

Didn't Alessi leave his meeting early last night too? It must have something to do with being raised on warm milk and cookies at a certain time every evening?

Mike Dunn Is An Idiot!

Last night was simply unbelievable. I had the Mayor following me around trying to listen into my cell phone conversations and then I was subjected to listening the Mike Dunn show he just might be a bigger Idiot than Ron Alessi!

As they customized their rules of order on the City Council, they more or less clarified there is NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH in the City of Salisbury. Not in City Council Meetings anyway. It's time to bring some experts in because these guys are way over the line any more.

In other words, you either be nice and speak nicely to the Council or we'll say you're out of order and be done with you. The next thing you know, Bob Taylor makes a statement and Mike Dunn gavels him down and says, you can't speak to us like that. He then read a paragraph from the new rules and it did not in fact state Mr. Taylor couldn't say what he had said. So Mike Dunn looked like an Idiot, (because he is) Mike continued to state that in the "spirit" of that paragraph in which he just read, be nice or be gone, more or less.

The next thing we knew, (during the next public comment) Bob Taylor got up and spoke about another matter and as he was speaking Mike Dunn very clearly started laughing right at Bob Taylor. Now here's a man gaveling down a citizen because he didn't like his tone and the next thing we know he's laughing in the citizens face while speaking!

When they took the 7:00 break I went up to Mike Dunn and I stated, while I can understand your wanting the tone from the citizens to be more respectable here Mike, how do you think it looks when the President of the City Council clearly starts laughing in the face of a citizen while on camera? Gary Comegys immediately said, "What did I do?" I said, not you Gary, Mike was laughing while Bob Taylor was speaking and I'd like to know why Mike thinks he's above and beyond everyone else here and feels he can get away with such a thing? Mike replied, "You wanna know what I have to say to that Joe? I laugh at you too. Every time you come here Joe, I laugh at you and I have nothing more to say."

Yeah, that's your City Council President. What A Guy!

Is Charles Jannace Creating A Bad Name For Local Blogs?

Unlike the Daily Times who is afraid to say anything negative against the City of Salisbury and or Barrie Tilghman or the Zoo, I'll go out on a limb here and share some thoughts I have on fair campaigning.

I personally believe that if you're going to own and run a Blog Site and you have an opinion, that's one thing. However, if you have a Blog site and you want to use your own opinion as an advantage point to possibly win a political race, that's out of line, crossing the line or whatever else you want to call it.

You have not ever seen me go on the attack against Rick Pollitt or his Family, nor have I ever challenged Ron Alessi's Family. Ron Alessi, well he's just a glutton for punishment because he's an Idiot with no thought of his own.

However, Rick Pollitt is a decent man running for an office that is VERY important for this County/Community. I personally think if Charles Jannace wants to use his Website to make certain statements, that's one thing. However, to use a personal Blog Site is no different from the Daily Times bashing Charles Jannace and printing only favorable things about Rick Pollitt.

Charles, win this thing because you deserve it, not because you have more of a following than Rick does. Learn to hold your head high because you're a champion, not a cheater. To me, this is no different than hitting below the belt several times. Send your information off to Bill Duvall and myself if you have something to say. If it's news worthy, we'll print it. If it's a dirt road and shitty pictures, forget it, it's not news worthy.

A good photo is something like Barrie Tilghman going on TV without a bra. It's photos of a WWTP breaking all sorts of laws. Capped pipes at the Zoo because Rapp illegally opened the drain as soon as the MDE left or a picture of Jim Rapp popping out of some bushes obviously stalking me. A dirt/gravel road, Dee, Dee, Deeeee! You need a new photographer. LOL

We're at the tail end of this thing guys, play fair or be prepared to get blasted yourself by other Blog Sites. If Rick Pollitt were an Idiot like Alessi I might have to give in Charles but he's a respectable man who deserves a fair shot with the Voters who count. Bring him down if he's broken the law. Bring him down if he gave out $20,000,000.00 TIF's or refused to bring down a Mall.

Other wise, call the man and ask him why he hasn't paved that road and I can assure you he'll have an honorable answer. Your Blog Site is slipping Charles. If you go, go out with some class and dignity, OK?

Don't Adjust Your Screen

This is a photo at night of the Memory Garden Cemetery on Memory Garden Lane. Many of the grave sites are illuminated with small crosses at night in which we travel past every single day. There was an article about this recently in The Daily Times and I thought everyone might want the opportunity to remark their own personal thoughts about it here. I'm working on one for my own grave that is much larger and is of a hand with the middle finger bright and bold standing straight up stating I was number one.

This area of the river near Market Street Inn is a complete disaster! The river rose so high, the trash settled on the banks and it's a mess! It won't take a boat this time. They'll now have to walk the banks of the river and clean it the old fashioned way.

The Old Mall Continues To Get Even Worse!

After all these meetings, Pres Conferences and attention, the Mall Owners still have no fulfilled their promise to clean things up and make it just about impossible to access the Old Mall. Yesterday I took these pictures of new graffiti in which policy is to clean it up within 24 hours and that's just not even considered at the Old Mall. This stuff hangs around for weeks, if not months! Blogger wouldn't allow me to load everything I wanted to show everyone this morning but this will say enough. Someone needs to get "TOUGH" with these people, that's all there is to it.

Another Business Bites The Dust In Salisbury!

This Royal Farms on Old Ocean City Road closed its doors for good recently and gave no customers any notice. They had recently renovated the location with new gas tanks and friends told me they were doing a great business when they shut their doors. Barrienomics is starting to effect the entire City and as she refuses to give everyone else million dollar TIF's they're just going to continue shutting down and going away. How many jobs have been lost in the past few months in Salisbury Barrie?

I noticed a couple of interesting things while visiting this exhibit yesterday. In one of the close up photos here you can see coins thrown inside onto the ground? The walkway leading up to it was lined with prickery bushes and they were not trimmed. Does anyone know who's supposed to care for such a location?

Renoir Is Still Undefeated And Wins Breed In PA!

We just received word Ren took Breed in the show in Pennsylvania and could be singled out now as he only needs to win a final Major for his Championship! Way to go Cassandra Williams!

Rapp Is Caught In Yet Another Lie

Jim Rapp has stated once again that the Salisbury Zoo had a record attendance at the Night of the Living Zoo. Although we're pleased to hear the Zoo did well, you're WAY OFF on that statement once again and it clearly shows Jim's lack of experience and maturity once again. I believe it was the second year they ever held the event where they had more than 8,000 in attendance, not 5,300+.

Jim regularly makes statements like this and is regularly corrected but all too many people just flat out believe what he's saying, hence there being 500 animals at the Zoo as another example. Then Ron Alessi will rubber stamp what Jim says, (knowing he's lying) at a Zoo Commission Meeting and in reality they can't actually feel good or complete about the project?

The Mayor runs this type of Local Government and in the past no one challenged it until the Blogs came along. My suggestion to "all" of you from here on out, know the Blogs are going to call you out on your lies and correct your patting yourselves on the back and "act" as if you're actually doing a better job. You don't have to lie Jim but as habitual as you are at it, I'm sure you'll come up with another excuse as to how I'm technically wrong about what I'm saying. A professional would simply say, thank you, our numbers were fantastic and our volunteers are second to none.

Now tell us the dollar figures and what you plan to do with all that money?????

Update; I just came to learn the figures were actually around 10,000 people the second year, (or so) the event had been going on. Just like the Zoo being one of the top 10 Small Zoo's in America, it disappeared from the charts once Jim Rapp became Director. Same goes with the Night of the Living Zoo event. It is almost 1/2 of what it used to be, yet Rapp tells the Press that they had a record year again. Not much different from what he released as their actual inventory of animals in the Zoo. Everything is around 1/2 of what he originally claimed with exception of animal inventory. That is actually far less than 1/2 his original number. The Zoo is failing under Jim Rapp's management and the lies stop right here.
