Verizon Says Some Cut-Off Rural Customers Can Stay, But They Must Ditch Unlimited Data Plans

Verizon recently notified around 8,500 rural wireless customers — accounting for nearly 20,000 phone numbers — that their service was going to be cut off for good on Oct. 17 because they spent too much time roaming off the Verizon network. Following the negative public reaction to this news, Verizon has decided to give these customers more time to find another wireless carrier or switch over to a Verizon plan with data caps.

Straight Talk now has a plan for land line phones. $15.00 for unlimited calls a month and free long distance. I hope they kick Verizon's butt!

There you have it folks, the true ultimate plan of Verizon is to get you off of unlimited plans... Because you are not getting raped in the ass hard enough by their fees and taxes and bills they charge you...

Always look for the underlining message or cause...

Also, this story shows that if you come together, stick together and fight, you can win!!!! but for some reason you all are to stupid to remember that!!!!

My mother just got rid of them in Cambridge. Their DSL service sucked, and every time they had a storm, the internet went out, and then you had to deal with someone in India who can hardly speak English to get the problem reported and fixed. I finally got her on Bay Country communications for the internet and she is very happy with their service. It gave me great pleasure to call verizon to tell them she would no longer need their internet! She is elderly and gets very frustrated every time she had to call them. I only wish they have this here in Salisbury. In Cambridge you have a choice of either Bay Country or Comcast for cable internet. The rates there are much lower because of the competition. We need this here in Salisbury!

Verizon can suck it. 4 lines with (grandfathered) unlimited data was costing us just shy of $400. Switched to T-Mobile $160 including taxes and fees for 4 lines unlimited everything. Haven’t been anywhere since I switched that coverage has been any different from Verizon.
