A Viewer Writes: Wendy's to be no more In Salisbury?

The South Salisbury Boulevard Wendy's at Bateman Street, directly across the street from Salisbury University has closed. Not an indication that Wendy's ever occupied the property is in evidence, save the company colors and some ghosts of advertising stickers on its windows. This closing follows the Punkin Court closure in December, 2016. The third location, opposite The Centre at Salisbury on Route 13 North, is now the sole survivor.

Any bets that the property has been 'acquired' by the university?

There's never a line at the drive up at the North location at lunch time, everybody is in the long, fast line over at Chick-fil-a. It's just a crap sandwich with lousy fries.

I just started going to the location by walmart and the food is great but the service is real slow.it's a shame.

High prices, bad service and poor quality food. That'll happen every time

Horrible place to eat. Last time I went there, the tables and floor was very dirty, and the food was very greasy and of poor quality. This was back in December.

This is just the beginning of many more businesses in the 'Bury to close. Doesn't surprise me, time to move away.

I think the Wendy's at White Marlin Mall is also closed.

That piece of property on South 13 should sell for a small fortune. I wonder what the University will put there.

Wendy's on Bateman street? Never heard of one. You mean on the corner of Route 13 and College Avenue?

9:13 lol. Spot on.

That place was "okay" 30 years ago. The last 10 years its been down right filthy. People dont want to be served at a place like that. Gross. Good riddance.

Bateman and s. sby blvd is/was a Hardees. The s. sby blvd Wendy's was on corner of College.

so which closed?

That's at College Ave. & 13, not Bateman.

Is that property not owned by SU? Gulf and SU had an agreement years ago when Gulf had a self-serve gas station there.

Yes, all of the local area Wendy's will close including the one on the north end of town.
They close once they get close to the end of their leases.

They were simply poorly managed.
It is just that simple.

Owners: You get what you pay for. Why didn't you hire a better person to manage your business?

They didn't honor the television deals 4 for 4.they had lazy, ghetto employees, filth, nasty decor and slopped together food. Need you say more, they shut themselves down.

Well I disagree... The Wendy's at Punkin Court was clean and the employees were super nice. Now that side of town is stuck with a weird KFC/Taco Bell or the slowest McDonald's in Maryland....

Was in the one across from the college a while back and they were pumping the sewer in front of the cash register while people were ordering.

10:06 AM, 6/8/17, Wendy's begins with a "W" and Hardees begins with an "H", so you guess which one closed. I believe it would be Wendy's, no matter where it's located.

At least the East side is getting an Arbys next to Royal farms (by wor wic). Woo hoo!

The KFC is a hot mess and the McDonalds in crisfield is the slowest!!!

They were never busy. Plus the people they had working there were lazy and unfriendly.

The Wendys just outside Ocean City on Rt. 50 has now closed leaving none in the area. Same thing. All markings removed. Happened just after Labor Day.

Except for one Wendys owned by somebody other than the Delmarva franchise owner in Maryland, they've all closed. And someone pointed out something. THEY NEVER HONORED THE 4 for 4 TV DEAL! And I know that pissed me off to drive away and get something else to eat, so I'm betting it did many. The Burger King in Ocean City often doesn't honor some $1 deals, but major combo deals on national TV was too much for me at Wendys. I refused to go back, drove away many times ordering nothing. The White Marlin Mall location was a disaster. One time they chased my car down to give me half the order because they FORGOT IT. I just hope DQ Grill and Chill doesn't put Dumsers Dariyland out of business across the street. I love that place.
