Mosby Asks Prosecutors To Exercise Discretion In Cases Involving Immigrants

State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby is making public her instruction that prosecutors exercise discretion in handling minor crimes involving immigrant victims, witnesses and defendants.

“As the current administration in Washington continues to increase its efforts to enforce immigration laws, we as prosecutors are the torch-bearers of justice in this city, thereby we must utilize our prosecutorial discretion as we do in every case by considering the unintended collateral consequences that our decisions have on our immigrant population,” Mosby said in a statement released by her office.

It confirms an earlier Baltimore Sun report that her office was looking to mitigate the impacts of ratcheted-up efforts by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to start deportation proceedings against people who were convicted, in some cases, of minor offenses. Prosecutors note that similar practices are in place elsewhere, like in Brooklyn, New York as The New York Times reports.

Yet they want Federal and other outside agencies to help control the crime wave. Do tell! Shouldn't everybody go help crime encouragers control the mess they create?

Mosby should resign! She really screwed up last year - and she's not getting any better.

Illegal means criminal! They committed a crime - they should be caught, prosecuted, and punished!

Then they can sit in jail (where she should be) or get deported to where they can't ever come back!

Mosby should surrender her license to practice or perhaps join the ranks of the ACLU. She is a bleeding heart liberal and the folks are not getting their money's worth as a State's Attorney.

Even if it's J-walking deport them immediately.
