DR. HARRIS: THE AMERICAN HEALTH CARE ACT WILL EMPOWER PATIENTS

WASHINGTON, DC: Dr. Andy Harris released the following statement on the newly released draft of the American Health Care Act:

“Obamacare’s many failures are spiraling out of control. For too long, Americans have seen their premiums skyrocketing, their deductibles soaring, and their choices dwindling. The Obamacare path is unsustainable and dangerous for our country.

Fixing this mess will not be easy, but this week the American Health Care Act (AHCA) was introduced to replace the failing Obamacare system. AHCA will drive down costs while providing every American with access to high quality, affordable health insurance.

AHCA does away with Washington bureaucratic mandates, choosing instead to empower patients and their physicians in health care decision-making. AHCA restores control of Medicaid decisions to the states, helping us to reduce fraud and abuse while promoting flexibility.

AHCA accomplishes all of this while maintaining protections for patients with pre-existing conditions and allowing young adults to stay on their parents’ insurance. We are working to make the transition from Obamacare to the AHCA as smooth as possible.”

Does anyone really think that after the insurance companies have been allowed to raise their rates so much, that they will ever decrease them? Of course, not.

This Republican plan is just as bad as obamacare if not worse. It destroys seniors...60 and over till medicare kicks in... ability to afford healthcare, who need healthcare the most. They need to get both sides to sit down and hash out a health plan. Like lowering medicare to 55 or 60. Ryan is nuts if he thinks this will cure obamacare. and obamacare is going to implode.
and i will never vote for andy harris again. he is full of s......

If government is involved, it's not a good thing. Remember when we paid $30 or $40 for annual checkups that we paid out of pocket. Get the government involved in health care and now look at the rates. This is not a function of the federal government.

They need to add dental and vision benefits to your regular medical policy so that it's one. It's asinine that they are separate since your teeth and eyes are in the same body as the rest of your parts covered by medical.

Thank You, 2:42! It's NOT a function of the federal government! We all of a sudden are paying 10,000 government administrators who were NEVER THERE before Obamacare!!!!!

Let's let insurance companies privately come up with competitive products to sell across state lines to patients who elect to either pay a cash price to their doctor or buy a policy to do that, or just have a policy to cover major disaster events. That cuts out billions of dollars in costs.

Big Pharma needs to become Little Pharma as well.

geesh, all these people sharing their opinions, and fear, without knowing what is going on. one guy asks for the gov't to do something which they are already doing. nobody reads anymore. they just listen to the boob tube or some other dunce on the radio.

but they know all the answers, just ask them. maybe they should send their plan to DC or get elected and do it themselves. (and you think we have problems now)
