Marylanders mixed over president's gun measures

BEL AIR, Md. —President Barack Obama said Monday he will soon introduce a new set of initiatives to toughen gun control laws.

The president met Monday with Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI Director James Comey and other top law enforcement officials at the White House. They talked about options for gun control measures the president can take without congressional approval, but the president didn't say what exactly he'll be doing.

"The good news is, is that these are not only recommendations that are well within my legal authority and the executive branch, but they are also ones that the overwhelming majority of the American people, including gun owners, support and believe it," the president said.

In Maryland, word of the president's planned executive action is getting praise from some and deep concern from others. Vincent de Marco of Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence called it the right step.

Our President has taken a major step forward in gun control. Had he done this background check expansion at the beginning of his first term imagine how many lives would have been saved: exactly none. Hell of a way to avoid ISIS, domestic terrorism, Iran treaty violations, Russian actions, Afghanistan, new mid-east escalations, and all the other real problems he's created.

Something tells me the mixed reviews might be general Eastern Shore opposition vs. Western Shore support. So many of them over there think we're just dumb hillbillies who drink beer on our farms while shooting off careless rounds into the air for fun. Little do they realize their rights are being slowly stripped away, including that of the 2nd Amendment.

You know I really dont care what the POS in Charge says. Make me a criminal by making my guns illegal and you only solidify the my feelings and the feelings of countless Americans. No matter what the HNIC says I will not only keep my guns but I will keep them loaded and on my person, ready to go. Lets get this show started.

How ironic it is that Obama wants a background check for gun ownership but refuses a background check to be president.

If you aren't doing anything wrong then you don't need to fear the government, much less the heroes (police).

11:52.....it is NOT about whether anyone is "doing something wrong".
You cannot be that shortsighted and stupid.
Don't "register" anything, don't take any "classes", don't give anyone a fingerprint, don't pay any Nazi "fee" to exercise your rights, and keep all of your guns loaded and ready to use.
What are you going to approve of next?? A "fee" to publish a mean letter to the editor?? A fine for hurting your feelings?
"...shall not be infringed."
That's all you need to know, but since it is in the Constitution, I'm sure that about 80-85% of people aren't even aware of that.
Stupid people are so easy to lead. SO easy.
Keep cheering.

How did we get here., to this travesty of freedom?
I look back to September 10, 2001 and think, "WTF happened?"
A criminal government reared up and said, "In your face people", that's what happened. Complete with it's own boot licking military, police force and media outlet, this criminal government has stolen America from it's people.
"Make America Great Again"

1:31 You are so right.
It is like O bah ma is the piper and the stupid liberals are the sheep.
He toots a tune and they follow with glazed eyes.
Sad situation. Keep them locked and loaded my friend.
