He was in charge of purchasing of Wicomico county after Fred Harris retired because of the landfill caper and was in charge of purchasing for the sheriffs dept for years before that.Never really cared for him loud and nasty at times and had a bad case of L.M.S. little man syndrome.

Sharon Morris lobbied Rick Pollitt to bring him in to the executive's office as Purchasing agent. The job was so far above his abilities but so is Morris's. She didn't know any better apparently, she is nothing more than a bank teller. He couldn't even write a complete sentence. He was on sick leave almost the whole time. Finally he was either fired or retired but not before he had worked the County on many fronts; sick leave, overtime and his ranking that he should never have received. That was thanks to Hunter Nelms. Thankfully he is no longer employed at the taxpayers expense. I feel really sorry for the last place he worked. Apparently though they are willing to make him pay for his thievery unlike a government like Wicomico County. Good riddance Elliott.
Years ago I really liked Mike Elliot that is until I came to know just exactly how he abused his badge. Did work for him and he tried to screw us out of the money he owed us! He went as far to make demands by saying "do you know who I am" and it is without saying I knew him and knew him well. I always thought he was an upstanding person until then. Personally I believe he had some sort of breakdown and was forced to leave the sheriffs department which I for one am glad he is not affiliated with them. The old saying what goes around comes around seems to be biting him back now. Living the lavish lifestyle he has been living has finally come to an end roads maybe now he'll come down off of his high horses?
He backs all his deputies. They're all in it together. This good ol boy connection needs to be broken up.
Elliott has deserved this for many years. He is a loser and has ridden on the coattails of the taxpayers for the last 20 plus years. I feel sorry for his family. They have to be hurting. I hope they will recognize what he is and move on. They don't deserve to pay the penalty for his behavior.

Lavish lifestyle? Donna is a RN, so together they were making over 100k. That's how they lived well....they earned it. I'm not trying to make any excuses, but I guess you all have forgotten how devastated Donna & Mike were 7 or 8 years ago when their son was killed on Snow Hill Rd. where the Rte 13 Bypass goes over. We shouldn't be judging others....especially when we don't know the circumstances.

I didn't know any of this till this post but if he has done all this and gotten away with it so long, I don't understand how somebody long before now hasn't squealed and it wasn't heard by the public as well as by Sheriff Lewis, the SPD and the States Attorney Office. Maybe we need an investigation into all the ones he has worked for and with.

Mike hasn't been a deputy sheriff for years. He's had a few other jobs since then. But when he was at the Sheriffs Office, he held a middle managemt position in which a checks and balance system was in place. Any money he was in charge of could not be misappropriated. The fact that he's s former deputy has nothing to do with what he's accused of now. There is no need to drag the good name of Sheriff Lewis and his office through the mud. There is no relevance to Mike Elliott being a former deputy. As to the fact that Sheriff Lewis promoted him, yes he did. Mike held a position of leadership there. A series of unfortunate events occurred which led to him leaving the Sheriffs office. But while he was there, he performed his job correctly. it is very unfortunate that this incident has shed a negative light on the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office. The headline could have just as well said "Former English's Employee arrested and being extradited to Delaware".
Guess that explains his wife's Facebook posts always living it up with him, his daughter, and son-in-law! If we all had extra funds, we'd be able to live lavishly as well.
This is another sad chapter in Donna's life. I wish her strength to do what she needs to do.
Likely the reason Elliott working at the sheriffs office was mentioned is he was there for years, probably 20 plus. The other reason is we expect officers of the law to be honest. It's a sour apple here.
I don't care what some of you say. Mike and Donna Elliott have been my friends for decades. I went to church with them and their children. He and Donna have been fine people. I support my friends! He was a good deputy. She was a great nurse and helped my son while in the hospital. They have both helped countless others in our community for years!!! So ease up on your attacks!

Although speculation and some stretches, it is good to say Karma has been swift and just. I wonder if he has enough lawyers for all of this 'slander' which he prided himself on using a hundred times last year and even joked that he has a team of lawyers and law enforcement at his beckoning call. He even stated multiple times how many people he has had arrested and the tag line was always 'well if you don't like, you can move out today'. To me, just being a stand-up person with integrity and a focus on doing his job, would have kept the campground in great shape and he wouldn't have lost 250 seasonals in just 18 months!!

Well aren’t the good people of Salisbury so terribly self-righteous? I’m a “come here” not a “from here” and this is the part of Salisbury I despise. No one has anything better to do than anonymously sit behind a computer and bash friends/neighbors/former co-workers. I don’t know Mike. I know Donna. I feel terrible that anyone is being subjected to this kind of nasty gossip. They live in a lovely neighborhood and have lovely friends, so what? Those are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? And all of you throwing around the whole “karma is a B” and so on…just how do you think karma will repay all of your ugly comments posted here? This is so "typical"!! There are people who are in leadership rolls "ABUSE" their power. It is written in many articles, and experienced in all of our lives....that when people stay in positions too long they can get the "higher than thou" complex and start abusing their power. The only way that this is AVOIDED is CHECKS and BALANCES are in place.
Mike Elliott's thoughts was that "he was a mighty power" which he abused while he was in law enforcement. He then transferred and worked for Rick Pollitt. For many many months (approx. 9-10 months) he never showed up to work for the City and he still got paid. Why did Salisbury City allow this?
Taxpayers need to be calling Salisbury City Government and inquire about this. He essentially stole from the city, Where do any human being work and doesn't show up to work for many, many months and still get a pay check????

Joe I do not get all these people bashing the Sheriff's Office and Sheriff Lewis. Mike Elliott has been gone for over six years. The sad fact is Elliott was never the same after his lost his son. There is absolutely no excuse for what the man did, but anyone who spent five minutes with him knew he was not right. I think he went over the edge and never came back. the man lost his way big time and now he will have to pay. Trashing his wife and kids is cowardly. Trust me I am no fan of Elliott he screwed all lot of deputies over in his day. I just think you have to be a bit of a puss to throw his wife and family under the bus. The only thing I can say is don't drop the soap tater !!!
Elliott screwed up. Simple. It's not the sheriff's office fault. It is definitely not the fault of Lewis or the admin that has replaced him. Leave them out of this unless you have something to say about their performance and/or actions. Some people are so quick to criticize but have no actual facts. Leave his family out as well.
He was the same guy when he worked at WCSO. Bad person and bad boss. He did a poor job, and should never have been promoted all of those times. Both recent admins made mistakes with upper promotions.

I worked for this jerk for one season and I can tell you, nothing he did made sense to any of us. Things like taking cash deposits home with him so he "wouldn't be interrupted". Cameras were everywhere at the office...but nobody was observing him at home. (hmmmm)The office manager was always in tears and behind closed doors, telling staff to stay out. She turned down multiple offers from staff to help her with paperwork. (hmmmm) In hindsight, I don't think Mike was stealing without help. I can tell you, not one employee or customer liked him because he treated everyone like crap. He even said one day, "I think I might have to start carrying (his gun)"! Nutso guy! I heard he's had one court appearance...anybody have an update?
