our community? try telling it like it is. spd is walmart's prvate security force. They ain't good for nothing else other than writing tickets! what a waste!
Yet no weekly drug arrests, illegal gambling arrests, welfare fraud, food stamp selling, prostitution, just shoplifting; that other did the work. Yup, law enforcement in Slimsbury don't over work themselves!
SPD responds to WalMart's calls just as it does to every other call from every other business. Nowhere in this report, or in any other shoplifting press release does it specify where the alleged crime occurred. Police departments all across the country do just the same thing. WalMart and other retailers can provide evidence and, in some cases, detain the individuals, but they can't charge them or process them for the courts. If you want to give full police powers to WalMart employees, contact your local legislator -- they'll have a good laugh.
If you think it's all about just writing tickets, how about you go on a couple of SPD ride alongs and then give us a report of what you experienced. I would recommend a Friday or Saturday night. To make it easy for you -- call 410-548-3165 and ask to speak with the duty officer. He'll hook you up. Until then, try to get a grip on that anger, which is obviously a problem for you.
1:45 (Chief Duncan), you don't need to brag about your department, we all know you think you, and your cops are doing a fine job, why just ask the Mayor, he says crime is down all over the city! I see drug dealers operating in this city everyday, and a couple of whores working behind a local gas station now for weeks, yes, I also see police cars driving by and doing nothing just watching these activities. I have called and told them on crime stoppers, and still nothing is getting done. I guess to busy writing tickets and going after shoplifters! Safer that way.
I went on a ride along a few months back, I never drank so much coffee in my life! Then there was the discounted food at restaurants wanting to have cops eat there. Yes, we were busy, avoiding work!
Me and my non druggie neighbors held an impromptu meeting in the front yards and discussed all the drug houses we knew about in our small block radius.
We got a guy off E Church St that comes around the corner on our street and deals, gets picked up and dropped off in front of our homes. His customers park on our street and 'round the corner headed for his house. Regular drive thru. Oh yeah we told SPD about it. 2+ years later it has gotten worse and SPD is no where to be found.
A year or so ago another drug house popped up on the S side of our street. They posted a youtube video that they took, using our neighborhood and the empty lot across from Atria nursing home. That's how we found them. And another one about 5 doors down from the drive thru dude on E Church St opened up for business.
But hey, yea, picking up those shoplifters is making a huge difference in our neighborhood!
Oh pulllleeeeeeze! The loss prevention does the work for you! And if they wanted to do all of your work they could. Last I checked, any citizen can file charges at the commissioners office. How about stop wasting your time calling out "extra patrol checks" at wawa and do some real police work, but you're too scared to do that, aren't you?! Don't pat yourself on the back too hard, you may hurt yourself.
I have seen many a patrol car doing nothing, just playing on their phones, parked and doing word search games, reading the paper, shopping at a store. The local cops are useless POS that continue to ask the citizens to do their job!
If only there was a way for a concern citizen to report this drug operation without risking life and limb after they let the low life out to come after you with pay back time. I made the mistake of helping (yeah right) let the police know of someone who was a risk to the community and they used my name of some charging documents and made my life hell. Between all the snooping mechanisms and the rights of criminals it isn't safe to assist with identification. It always comes back to bite you in the a%%. If I saw someone gunned down in front of me...I would NEVER say a word again. I learned my lesson the hard way.

4:27 is a liar.

Only 3 this week. Maybe crime is down in Salisbury lol

Looks like the store security is working. Maybe we should hire them to work for the SPD so they can prevent crime on the streets.
