MONROE, N.C. (AP) -- A North Carolina man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six to 10 years in prison Wednesday for handcuffing an 11-year-old boy by his ankle to a porch with a dead chicken around his neck as punishment.
Dorian Harper entered the guilty plea to three felonies - child abuse, assault with a deadly weapon and maiming without malice. His plea came a day after a jury was seated.
"Yes, sir," Harper, 58, said when the trial judge asked if he was guilty.
He also apologized as he was sentenced.
"There hasn't been a day when I haven't been remorseful," he said.

That's awesome. I wouldn't be remorseful, stand by your punishment, sir!
I suggest you click the more button and continue reading. The chicken yes. Kill it wear it. No biggie. But the rest is awful.
That's NO way to treat a dead chicken!
Oh my goodness. read the whole story. that headline is ridiculously inaccurate. this guy is remorseful? BS> he is just sorry he got caught. And all those other children were ADOPTED by a single woman living in filth with a man not her husband? who did the home visits prior to the adoptions? this didn't just begin with the latest victim. how long would it have been before the state would have had to try those two for murder? thank God the pig got loose and a cop came looking for it.
The psychological studies of these two should be very interesting.
Nice moustache, Wanda.
3:12 My apologies... I hadn't clicked more. My comment had to do with the chicken, for sure.
