A Comment Worthy Of A Post 2-20-15

Joe.... please alert your readers to a bait and switch that is going on. I called Comcast because my service is not working and scheduled a service call. When checking my e-mail they had sent me an order for a whole other service than what I had discussed with them and jacked my bill up double. When I called today they were rude and would not help me at all. Beware when calling Comcast that you may get something you do not want and you did not ask for.

I've been trying to cut the cord on them for years but my wife won't let me. The TV service is ok but the Internet drops all the time. Would only have Internet if they didn't force you into the triple play.
I like their new scam. $20 dollars if theyre late. I'm sure they just raised the service call fee, then they can show up whenever they want.
Still better off than the Pines. Media con is the WORST.

Senior Citizen and cannot understand the thick accent of the person on the other end with Comcast. You ask and ask for someone you can understand and they just repeat over and over what they want.

Public service commission has no control over Comcast at all. Who does????????

I am so frustrated with Comcast that I searched and found the CEO's address and name on line and have sent him a letter of dissatisfaction. I was not rude...just explained the facts and asked for his cooperation in resolving much needed issues with their customer service...they are under staffed and can not keep up with customers needs.

We dropped Comcast for services other than the internet, when Direct TV gets that we will add that to our Direct TV service they are great. With Comcast the service was very poor with bad weather, we got new cable boxes for our tv like 4 times, and help was impossible, communication non existant, and prices always going up every year.

If you go online using their chat in the evening, ask what is the cheapest internet service you can get. It's $50/mo. Make a record of that chat session. Call the next day and request to be switched to the $50 service. You will likely be told that the cheapest service is $60 like I was. Just tell them you have a transcript of your chat that offered a $50 plan. They will eventually agree to $50. Remember to cancel everything else from them. Now call Dish and ask for their cheapest TV only service. It will vary depending what extras you choose. The quality of their broad casts are notability better and their DVRS are generations ahead. Your bill should drop to about $150.

And, if you call and "renegotiate" from an automatic increase to your old rate, you must pay a fee for a "video" explaining your 'new' service and a fee for a "change of service" PLUS taxes on both fees. COMCAST is crooked and completely a scan organization... and our county allows them to continue unabated. The problem is....the alternative for TV & internet in the rural areas.

11:39 From an I.T. person's perspective I suggest you never go with any satellite provider's internet service.

No matter what they tell you its brutally slow and there are many things you cannot do on the internet due to such services.

Satellite provided internet is only second to dial up for the worse possible way to get on the internet.

This is not to be confused with cellular provided internet. Cellular internet connection can run great as long as you have a good cell signal.

Verizon Comcast Dish or Direct TV I've had them all and they're all the same.

I went to dish 15 yrs ago and love Dish. Very seldom lose signal in bad weather and then for a short time. Before I was with Comcast and I was down just about every other week at least once and then for hours at a time. Customer service sucked. Now with dish I like their customer service and service. Have not tried their internet but if it is like their satellite service it is top of the line. I always recommend Dish.

Never bundle voice, video, and data from a single source. Go with the cheapest supplier of each. Avoid multi year contracts.

The bad thing about Comcast internet is that if you drop everything else and only keep the internet portion, your rate goes up because that is the only service you have. If you add the cable or voice portion, the internet price goes down a little.

All of you are crazy out of your minds to pay so much money to watch tv. Get something more productive to do besides rot your brains.

11:39 is correct, we had nothing but trouble with Comcast. Not 1 problem in 8 yrs. with direct tv.
