Be Here Monday Morning

Tomorrow morning during the 9:00 am hour we'll be delivering some really incredible articles about local issues NO ONE else is touching on. Yes, investigative reports that will leave you wondering WHY no other news source delivers such important matters.

HOW ABOUT THIS WEATHER! As if last night wasn't bad enough, today seems to be just as bad. I find myself cracking up a bit as I write this because I feel like the rest of the local media reporting on issues AFTER the fact, (last night) LOL. So here's a question for you. With it being as cold as it is out there today, what temperature are you keeping, (or able to keep) in your home?
As for this morning, well, it was a nice break from a normal week day. While our traffic has never been better, (ever) waking up to less than 500 comments was a nice relief.

As for the incident yesterday BEHIND Bed Bath & Beyond, there's been no updates. It certainly is an unfortunate situation and I for one wouldn't want to be one of the first responders having to see and deal with such a situation. I'm sure ALL of them went home last night appreciating their loved ones even more.
I have something else I'd like to share with all of you. Ever since Fratelli's opened their doors they have literally been PACKED. On many evenings there's a 45 minute wait, which is awesome. That being said, when you have that many people visiting your restaurant, even though the parking lot is quite large, there's been an overflow issue. So much so that the business next door to them have started to TOW vehicles for parking in their lot.

Doug Marshall heard of this problem and immediately offered his open lot directly behind Fratelli's. After reading about the Back Street problem, (now resolved and no parking signs REMOVED) Doug stepped up to the plate as a great neighbor and is allowing over flow parking on that lot.

Well stay warm Ladies & Gentlemen. It's been a great week and it looks like next week is going to be even better.

I'm at 70 with the wood stove cranking 4 loads a day. I don't dare let it go out!

Joe, it is terrible outside. I went out to feed the birds, and squirrels that I have been helping to care for over the years, and it was soooooooo cold. Would you please remind all your readers to please, please bring in all your pets that you normally keep outside. Even though they may have coats of hair, these frigid temperatures are not safe for them.

A couple of warm blankets and fresh food and water will help keep their body temperatures up.

Also, please don't keep your dogs on heavy chains around their necks. Please bring them in out of this bad weather. So many people put heavy chains around dogs necks then stake them outside. Many times the animal is too sick, or cold to make it to a shelter (even if they are given shelter). Please get the animals inside to safety. If you can't take care of them, call the police or shelter and they will help the animals.

Thank you Joe.

It's the only half-decent restaurant in da Bury -- for really good dining we have to go elsewhere. Even Cambridge has better places, not to mention Easton or OC. And how about Bon Appetit in Seaford!

Still waiting for Fratelli's second location......they need it!

Fratelli's food is still very good. However, their seating arrangements are terrible....after the newness rush is over, I think this will hurt their business. Nothing has compared to their "cozy" Allenwood Shopping Center location.

If you see any dog on a chain outside please call the police to report it. I am sure there is no food and water for the dog either. Hint, Hint.

I think Fratelli's is only packed because of the newness also. Everything there has failed. One of the best places to eat in the mall was Shoyu Japan and they have gone down hill quick. They are using sour chicken, precooked vegetables and they are giving less and less teriaki sauce. Not only that, they are watering down the terriaki sauce and it doesn't have much flavor. With the increase in thugs in the mall and now their bad food I think they will end up closing by the end of the Summer. Mark my word on it.

Don't understand the hype at Fratelli's. We have eaten there and it was okay. Like any place that has opened in Salisbury when they're open about two months you'll be able to get a table with know problem.

I agree about the poor seating arrangements at Fratelli's. I have followed them from location to location and the first location was their best for sure. We went the other night and no matter where you are seated you are in a traffic pattern. It feels like hit and run dining. For me.... carry out will be the ticket. Food is still good.

68. If there were a Four Star restaurant here in Salisbury, the heating oil guys and their families would all be eating there tonight.

It wouldn't be quite as bad if the wind would quit.

good food , but , very bad interior and seating.

70 degrees with my pellet stove , furnace and gas log stove.
Really puts a strain on us.

The food was good when we went, but the atmosphere just seemed too "busy" and our table was out in the middle where the servers had to keep going by.

74 degrees in our 1250 square foot rancher with only heat being the wood stove.

Fratelli's a good restaurant? Really? Do you people get out much? Salisbury is the pits. Can't wait for my kids to grow up so that my wife and I can leave this dump.

2:33-I have not seen it or heard it barking for the last 2 nights.Maybe it's inside?

Thank you Doug Marshall for being a good neighbor. You are an asset to our community.

The UPS driver reported my neighbors to animal control for leaving their dogs out on chains every day of the year. Animal control came by and spoke with the owners. Dogs are still outside on chains in this freezing cold weather.

6:09 you should call and continue every hour until they do something. Joe can you help.

At 6:46... Definitely agree!

Doug Marshall is a really nice guy.
Just sayin,.., I've met him and he's quite genuine, and very business savvy.

I would like to leave a comment about the first paragraph of this post...by now most people who want to know whats going on come to this blog for timely information and facts about local politics. I am so impressed that a blog can be such a powerful force in our daily lives here on the shore. I support as many of the advertisers as I can. I hope that SBY News continues for many years to come, just wanted to say thanks. From, a family in Delmar, DE.

Animals in the wild can group together for warmth and or find a suitable spot. A dog is forced to deal with what a$$ holes like you give them. I'd like to chain you to a tree or kennel you up in a dog house for the next couple days in only your long Johns.

The water is frozen no doubt. That's enough to sieze the dog. Wicomico will not do anything about no food unless extreme signs of malnutrition is obvious.
