A Viewer Writes: Boulevard Auto Sales
I'm in desperate need of a vehicle. After being blown off by Hertrich GMC in seaford, I decided to call around to buy here pay here places. Boulevard Auto down in Car Dealer Boulevard is the worst ones to ever encounter. I called and told them I had around $2500 dollars for a down payment. I was open and honest and told them I had a repo due to personal reasons. My hours were cut and I was unable to afford the car, so instead of having the car forcibly removed I decided to do the right thing and voluntarily turn it back over to the dealer. Back, to Boulevard, they told me over the phone that just because I had a repo they weren't going to help me. No Ifs Ands or Buts, but yet every crack head and drug dealer can get a car with no questions asked. My money isn't good for them, a 26 yr old hard working criminal justice major still in college trying to make a better life for myself isn't good enough, but money made by illegal means is better. Now i honestly see what this city is coming to.

It is unfortunate that you got turned down. But please show us your research that proves that every crack head and drug dealer can get a car here. Hopefully you can sit don with a different dealer and work it out. good luck to you
You wanted to put down $2500 and have them finance the balance. Drug dealers and crack heads pay in cash, in full.
That's the difference. They are only protecting their interest.
Can't say I blame them
Gather up your evidence against Boulevard Auto, proving them guilty of selling to every crack head and drug dealer. As a hard working criminal justice major you probably know better than most how to bring a law suit of discrimination against them. Then when you win, you will own every car on their lot.
Believe it or not a voluntary turn in hurts your credit more than a repo.
Take the 2500 and buy a car with it that you don't have to finance. Each money take the payment you would be making and put it in an account.......when you have about 5-7k buy a better used car that you don't have a payment for.. keep doing that until you can afford to pay cash. When you go to ANY dealer do NOT allow them to run your credit until you are absolutely sure you want that vehicle. All those people checking your credit doesn't look good. Isn't there an auction in Dover also? Try buying a car from there. The right thing to do it NOT fiance the vehicle.
Check out eBay. I got a great car that Bluebooked at $15,000 for $9,000. It was a dealership trade-in that they wanted gone. Seven years later and I'm still driving it and it's still in primo condition.
I agree with 12:02. Good advice!
I've seen a crack head sell their car. I've seen them steal someone's car, and sell it. But, I have never known of a crack head, or other weak, drug dependent person, BUY anything other than their vice. Drug dealers pay all cash. Your story is unfortunate, but in today's world, business' can't afford to take these kind of risks on.
If I were in your situation, I would buy what I could afford with the cash in my pocket. No financing. Not good for you, and not good for the lender.
Good luck!
You should be glad you got turned down by Boulevard Motors or Auto - you do not want to buy a car there. Keep trying, go elsewhere, you'll be glad you did.
Hopkins automotive group is the worst. They'll sell you junk vehicles with bad inspection tickets. They'll rufuse to fix any issues and lie about things like I need a check written to show the finance company but we won't cash it. Its only for paper work. Then they cash it anyway and repo your car once you drive off leaving your paid off trade in. Crooks!
Sounds to me like boulevard is just trying to limit their headaches. I've bought quite a few vehicles from them over the years and they are awesome.
Huh
A lot of time with used car dealerships its hit and miss. Sometimes its all about the sales rep you deal with who will make promises that the dealership can't keep.
Over all I have had great experiences with Hopkins. I have bought a few cars from them and every time they have taken good care of me.
Bought my car from a local auction for $1400 and it was MD inspected. Title, taxes and tags the next day and it was on the road. You already bought one that was more than you could afford. Drop the expectations and find an older car in the price range you can afford. It may take a bit of searching, but it can be done.
N3ver give out how cash money you have until you have wheeled & dealed to the final price...if they know what you have up front you have no levy with them....
Young man, be patient. If you have $2500 that is not borrowed, then keep looking and asking your friends and family to look out for good private sale automobiles.
You don't need a dealer, you need a car. Finding an unscrupulous dealer to take your money and give you a piece of junk that won't last as long as your payments shouldn't be hard, even with your repo history. Don't do it! There are some really good cars out there, if you are patient and hang on to that $2500 so that you can take advantage of the deal when it presents itself. You won't be sorry that you waited for a good deal to come along. If you part with your $2500 to a dealer for a piece of junk, you WILL be sorry. This is my old man, "dad", kind of advise for you, no charge.
Go to BiState Motors just north of Delmar on the south side of 13. He'd be glad to help you I'm sure.....nice cars.
The owners son dealt with me in the Delaware store of Hopkins. Arrogant p.o.s. was mad over his dads drop dead sexy young wife running show. Idk what was going on beyond that. All I know is he walked away from me angry over a tiff. I left and never bought a car. They looked like clowns. Checked out the Salisbury location.... Same service. Hopkins will never gain my business.
Dude for 2500 bucks you can get a decent transportation car from a private party and you won't have to make any payments.Just make sure it is inspected befor you buy it'you don't want any surprises.Even if you have to pay for the inspection yourself don't buy it until you do that. Most private sellers are honest but if in doubt walk away. There are plenty of cars out there you look you will find something.GOOD LUCK
It'd sad. People with late bills are being denied credit. But you file bankrupt and you can gets cars, houses, and credit cards after doing that.. I don't get it, but that is what I have been seeing.
Another young Socialist that thinks everyone is a winner!
"Everyone is equal and they discriminated against me because I'm a bum that couldn't afford to fulfill a contract I had with a previous car company! It's just not fair"!
And this is a Criminal justice major?
Go figure. A future cop.
With no good paying jobs around here any more i wish someone can tell me how all the car stealerships on stealers row in da bury even keep all the lights on in the parking lots, pay tons of staff to walk papers back and forth and hit you for every lil fee there is. Isay hang on to your 2500 young man and search for a good used car if you look you will find and do a case search on the seller it will tell you alot about who you are dealing with.
It's really about practicality and budgeting. Find a decent used car that won't be pretty, but will be safe and pass inspection for $1500. Use the rest that you have set aside for tags, insurance and gas. Work debt free, save, and when the time is right buy another car and sell the old one.
Payless Auto Sales will put you in a car for less than $2500 down. They are buy here pay here and have nice stuff... 932 west Isabella st across from Taylor oil and the Exxon subway. Ask for Ottis or Phiel 4109121212
