I have a few questions below & am hopeful you Joek, or some of these readers can let me know
    the answers.

Why's it mandatory for them to go on ONLY medical calls???

If mandatory where's it written &
how long has that been in effect?
    AND----
wHY DO the huge trucks go on such calls & not just the smaller vehicle ????

Do we still have volunteers that
respond when the alarm goes off???

    How many volunteers are there????

How many Actual Fires were reported they went to last yr. ???

Sure would appreciate getting the fact straingh about the Department
& what they are to do , except fight fires.

Good questions. To answer one of your questions this is a policy that was masterminded by Rick Hoppes and John Tull to increase the number of calls reported. This increase in call volume for fire trucks looks like the Salisbury Fire Department is really busy and they need more firemen. The reality is these fire engine responses aren't dispatched but self dispatched. There is a list of calls the fire engines are told to self dispatch on and if they don't respond the officer in charge will get written up.

    It's called job security.

Just exactly who is accountable for this dept: City of Salis or Wicomico County?
