Command Sergeant Major Wardell B. Turner, 48, of
Nanticoke, MD, US Army, was one of two soldiers who while supporting
Operation Enduring Freedom, died 24 November 14, in Kabul, Afghanistan,
of wounds suffered when the enemy attacked their vehicle with a vehicle
borne improvised explosive device. CSM Turner was assigned to
Headquarters, United States Army Garrison, Fort Drum, NY. He was a
Military Policeman. Also killed was SPC Joseph W. Riley, 27, of Grove
City, Ohio.
CSM Turner is to be interred on the hallowed grounds
of Arlington National Cemetery on 5 January 2015 at approximately 1300
hours from the Administration Building. PGR has been invited to attend
the services by his family, and we will be there to stand tall silent
and proud in honor of this American Warrior, his family, friends and
comrades at arms

Commander Sergeant Major Turner is a REAL true hero. There are no words to express how much WE as a nation have lost with the death of this great person. Heartfelt sympathy and peace to his loved ones.
