Ice Bucket Challenge dumped hundreds of millions into ALS Association coffers

A feel-good phenomenon of dumping cold water over our heads warmed our hearts this summer.

In the process, the Ice Bucket Challenge raised some $220 million to promote awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the disease commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

A little more than half the money — $115 million — splashed into ALS Association coffers in Washington, D.C., more than five times the nonprofit's normal annual budget. And another $105 million was soaked up by affiliated chapters in the U.S. and around the world, including $16 million in Canada.

Hopefully, they'll use it for research towards a cure.

Regular insurance should cover symptom management!

2:46 They will! Through salaries, big pharma $$$, politicians to help push big pharma's agenda... it will be spent!

Let's just hope government agencies don't decide they need "to help" the ALS Association. God forbid Pelosi and crew want to stick their greedy noses in.
