FROM WBOC: State's Attorney Determines Methadone Bottle Not from Police Evidence

SALISBURY, Md.- An investigation by the State's Attorney confirmed that the methadone bottle with councilwoman Laura Mitchell's name on it, posted on a Delmarva blog Monday, did not come from police evidence.

Mitchell believed the pill bottle was in police evidence after an alleged traffic stop with her son.

State's Attorney Matt Maciarello said they retrieved reports from the Salisbury Police Department and the Wicomico Sheriff's Office.

"Another family member had some contact with law enforcement. So we pulled any type of report related to those contacts and we were able to see from the details of the report that there was no possibility that the photograph came from any sort of law enforcement contact," said Maciarello.

The reports indicated the pill bottle was not part of any investigation between Mitchell's son and law enforcement.

"If there was a contact with the family member there would be a report of what evidence was collected or whatever was in the possession or custody of the person, and it didn't have anything to do with her prescriptions," said Maciarello.

WBOC spoke with Mitchell again Thursday. She said she's moving forward.

"Wherever it came from, however he obtained it, whatever happened, it did not come from the police. Our system, I trust their integrity and it's really a moot point where it came from," said Mitchell.

Mitchell has maintained all along the prescription was for chronic migraines.

Methadone, while commonly used to treat heroin addicts, is also a pain reliever.

My research shows 99% of methadone use is for heroin addiction. 1% use is for pain and an extremely small percentage of the one percent is for migraines. Why didn't WBOC share this information. Why didn't they mention the 169 pills. No one will ever believe someone prescribed 169 pills for migraines.

Normally, perscriptions written for pain always end with as needed for pain as opposed to this one.......

She's not very smart or she would have left it alone. Now she has implicated her son in nefarious deeds. Now because the police say it didn't come from them she wants to move on because it's a moot point? What she is really saying is OH SH*T I really screwed the pooch on that one. To late now. She put it out there and wants it all to just go away? Now that she has screwed any chances of being elected to the County Council she always has the city to continue screwing up. Oh what a tangled web she has woven.

Now, will the Daily Times also clear my name?

SALISBURY. MD DEMOCRATIC Councilwoman Laura Mitchell = Liar and embarrassment to the city council, herself, her constituents, and the TAX payers, she also owes Mr Albero an apology and a APOLOGY to the Salisbury Police Department and the States attorneys office.

Don't forget the Sheriff's office, they were part of the investigation as well. Hard earned tax dollars wasted on an accusation made by a drugged out wannabe politician. Send her the bill for the time spent trying to cover her sorry ass.

In two words...HELL NO!

Just heard from someone who was a delegate at the Democrat convention with Mitchell a few years ago -- she was "on something" the whole time.

Well heck Joe has been vindicated and she unnecessarily implicated her lovable son as a baby crackhead like momma crackhead. Many of the readers didn't know about her crackhead thief of a son, but now they do. IDIOT!! What an idiot and more idiots will vote for that dope head.

On another note, I thought Laura Mitchell said she only tried it once and she didn't like the side affects? There seems to be at least 2 Methadone bottles so what happened to them?

Laura Mitchell is not the one you should be voting for if you want honesty. Maybe Josh Hastings had the other bottle.

Laura Mitchell was yelling at voters telling them who to vote for if she didn't get to accost them at early voting yesterday.

"...after an alleged traffic stop with her son."

Alleged? It's documented in police records, with evidence collected. That's not alleged, it's fact.

"...with her son." Was she with her son at the time, or did the reporter mean "of her son"?

Josh Hastings loves you Joe.
