Read carefully the following proposed amendment to the Alabama constitution:
Act 2013-267, HB8, proposes an amendment to Article I, Section 26 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to provide that every citizen has a fundamental right to bear arms and that any restriction on this right would be subject to strict scrutiny. The proposed amendment also provides that no international treaty or law may prohibit, limit, or otherwise interfere with a citizen's fundamental right to bear arms.
Sounds great, doesn’t it. Are you ready to get onboard with all of the major gun-rights organizations in support of this? Would you support such legislation in your state? Isn’t this the kind of positive change to the U.S. Constitution that could be implemented once we organize an Article V, Convention of the States, as promoted by Mark Levin and others?
Before you lock and load, and armor-up, and prepare to march off to battle for this kind of change, read the following, and understand how you just shot yourself in the foot, or worse:

Appearances can be deceiving, no? When it comes to the written law, the devil’s in the details. Perhaps our founders weren’t so stupid after all.
Truly, “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

I'd prefer an amendment that would allow us non-violent felons to have our right to bare arms back. I have two daughters that look to me to protect them. The police don't prevent crime, and they won't magically appear the moment I press 3 buttons on my phone. I'm the first line of defense for them and I will do what I must protect their lives.
You have the right to bare arms, you just don't have a right to a bare bottom.
Lawyers...ugh... liars.. first to go in revolutions! ....all of our rights are God given and dont let them use any other wording or lanuage...VOTE NO ON THIS ONE
If you own a gun and are prepared to use it then you have a right to bear arms.
Your right is protected by the gun itself.
If you aren't prepared to use it then you shouldn't have it in the first place.
