Marydel - The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a crash that has left 2 Marydel, Delaware men dead on Halltown Road last evening.
Preliminary investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at approximately 10:12 p.m. as a 1999 Ford Escort, operated by Estanislao Lopez-Berduo-27 of Marydel, DE was traveling westbound on Halltown Road (SR8) west of Enss Road, Marydel. For unknown reasons, Lopez-Berduo’s vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lanes, into the path of an eastbound 2000 Pontiac Sunfire being operated by Zachary T. Rogers-18 of Marydel, DE, resulting in a head-on collision.
Estanislao Lopez-Berduo-27, the operator and sole occupant of the Ford Escort sustained multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigation has determined that alcohol is suspected as a factor on the part of Lopez-Berduo.
Zachary T. Rogers-18, the operator of the Pontiac Sunfire was properly restrained in the vehicle, sustained multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 2 female passengers in the Sunfire, Avianna Walker-Lane-17 and Mikeshia A. Stewart-19 both of Dover, DE were transported by Delaware State Police Aviation Helicopter to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries. Treatment status and disposition are unknown at the time of this release.
Halltown Road was closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

Zach was a good friend off mine and had to loose his life due to someone making poor choices. R.I.P. to both who passed and others get healed quick and easy

Zach is my brother n trust me we are hurting... a reckless thoughtless drunk driver took a special young man from a lot of people bit most importantly his family.. zach touch a lot of people n will truly b missed...
