Champions of the bill argue that an earlier curfew would help prevent Baltimore’s youth from falling victim to, or committing, violent crimes, and help identify children suffering from neglect. Critics say the stringent bill could unfairly target African American children and teenagers.
The new law would require children under 14 to be home by 9 p.m. Teenagers between 14 and 16 would have to be home by 10 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on weekends. Parents whose children violate the curfew would have to undergo family counseling or pay a $500 fine.

African American children and teenagers are unfairly targeting us.
And answer me this - are we the only country in the world (not including Africa)where if you are Black you are referred to as African? As in African American. I've never heard the term African Canadian or African Scottish or African French. Get over yourselves.
8:41 - I would accept the hyphenated title if you were first generation here...children of parents born here are American...they might have a foreign ancestry of heritage.

My ancestry is German-Irish and it is something to be aware of but that's about it. I'm American. Not German American, not Irish American, not anything but American. Blacks need to get over their inferiority complex.

That's the 64 dollar question and the answer is no they do not care. How about if a child is caught out past curfew, spay/neuter the parents. They can't properly supervise the one they have so no more. We would see a dramatic decrease in crime in 10 years as well.
Any kid caught out past curfew should be taken from their household and enlisted into the peace corp and shipped off to do good work.
How about every time one of their kids is caught out after the curfew we take $100 a month off of their entitlements. Take away $200 - $300 of their food stamp money and where are they going to get beer and smokes.

8:41 , the only name in other countries is, Canadian, Nigerian, Cambodian, Frenchman. In my part of the world, they are called "Black", in the news, no African American's here!

They can't go back since they have NEVER been there. And even IF they were there, the real Africans would kill them. They really don't know how good they have it here.
I'm a European American and proud of it. I wonder if all those European American " urban youth" are causing any problems?
