i never really understood why Subway was so popular, they are awful. Wawa makes a much better sub for the same price.

Sorry to disappoint all the haters... but free market and all... Subway, If I'm not mistaken is like the #1 or #2 fast food restaurant in the world. They would ONLY do this if it made good business sense. If they can't sell sandwiches because the community around the store won't eat the meat, then give them what they will.

I have a strong request.......as soon as you find out they own a business DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!! 7-11, Dunkin Donut, Royal Farm, all these little markets, Crown. Just don't spend your money with them.

There are about 1500 Subways in Britain & Ireland; slightly less than 200 have altered their ingredients.
If sales don't go up, or drop, they can point to that in resuming prior ingredients. There are lots of places in Britain with dense pockets of Muslim residents.
Food habits are an element of their practice, but most criticism of their practices focuses on entirely different behaviors (treatment of women, etc).
The change does not affect US stores. It's fine to be critical but occasionally helps to have more than a thimble full of knowledge about the topic.
If I want bacon or ham on my sub I'll go to a store that has it. Let the cash register decide.

I don't think most of you read or understood the text of this story. if this had happened here I would be very upset, but this happened in the U.K. where they have heavy duty populations of muslims. good business sense for them. the U.K. is stupid for having let so many of the muslims enter their country and live there.

I have noticed you have a very limited vocabulary. Try reading a book, maybe even a dictionary, to expand your knowledge of different words and their meaning.
You can start in the letter 'c' section, maybe then, YOU could find a clue. But try not to get lost in the thousands of new words for you.

I don't think you get the point of the comments and you are part of the problem. First they are not talking about MacDonalds and their menu. They are talking about our enemy the Muslims who are trying to take over the world as well as the United States. People like you are the ones that don't have a clue and shouldn't be allowed to vote.
We as Americans should never ever cave in to the Muslims. Caving in is the first mistake that is made.
