A Letter To The Editor: Clubhouse at Ocean Downs
I have been a frequent patron of the clubhouse for many years. The casino has problems but the clubhouse is a whole different issue. Rude staff especially so-called supervisors talking about other patrons behind their backs. She doesn't realize I can hear her when she complains about us "stupid idiots" spending our social security checks. It's our money and we'll spend it the way we want! The waitresses and kitchen staff at the bar seem to be the only ones truly enjoying their job. I try to be nice and courteous to others but that really irks my nerves being talked to behind my back. I would speak up but am afraid of being ejected and evicted. I've seen this happen on many occasions. The cleaning staff are always friendly even though they have to stand the smell in there. Sometimes it smells like mold and at other times smells of raw sewage or a mixture of both.

Lets just all turn a blind eye to the issues and act like its all rainbows and butterflies.
This is the 3rd article on that OD Supervisor. Keep trying and you might get the Supervisor fired yet. All three letters and numerous comments sound more like sour grapes I want that Supervisor gone.
Looks like a case of paranoia to me. Maybe she should hang out all day somewhere else.
I go to Delaware slots where the buildings are new not renovated grandstands.

No don't stop going. Public exposure will get the big man's attention and heads will roll.
Don't go. Don't spend all your social security money gambling. You have better odds playing the lottery. Go enjoy the boardwalk or take a stroll down the beach and get some fresh air. There are always going to be people talking about other people behind their back. That's life. At your age you should realize that. Writing in to a blog is not going to change that and your not telling anyone anything they didn't already know.
I'm not sure about the rest of you but when I get poor /rude service or don't like the conditions of a store or business, I take my business elsewhere.

And there lies the true entitlement mentality. Bet you are always looking for a senior discount and whining to everyone how you live on a fixed income too.

the best way to hurt a business is to take your business elsewhere. i do think word of mouth is important, but if you are unhappy with where you spend your money, spend it elsewhere. its common sense!
If this person wants to go there she shouldn't have to listen to someone berate her or anyone else behind their back!! The thing to realize is the supervisor sound like a real witch with a capital "B". The supervisor obviously doesn't appreciate the fact that people who frequent the establishment are paying her salary. Someone needs to fire her and let someone else who appreciates their job take over. I know that people can be exceptionally rude to wait staff, but as a patron of the establishment she shouldn't have to put up with hatefulness from anyone, particularly a supervisor.
Really? You people have much bigger issues to deal with rather than complaining about the establishment where you blow your money on gambling. Stay home and gamble online if you don't like Ocean Downs or even better just give me your money and I will return 10% of it and tell you that you won!
BY LAW, Fraternal organizations MUST pay out 50% of what they take in compared to 35% ( or close to it) at casinos like OD. If you belong to the Moose, Ellks, AL, FW, etc, why patronize Ocean Downs?
I just wish they would change their menu. It's the same few things every time we go. PLEASE improve it

Probably a lousy tipper, you do know servers make about $3.65 an hour don't you? They also have to report 8% of their sales as tips whether they have been tipped or not.

There's a new 60,000 sq foot casino coming to spend your money in. They should have new bathrooms for you. I have to agree the ones upstairs in the club house are pretty old and decrepit.
