California Chrome Soaks Up Attention As He Arrives At Pimlico For Preakness Stakes

After California Chrome took his first few steps on the grounds at Pimlico Race Course, he stopped to pose for photos just like the star he is.

The Kentucky Derby winner arrived in Baltimore just before 2 p.m. Monday after a charter flight from Lexington. His assistant trainer, Alan Sherman, pronounced the colt relaxed and fit after the second airplane trip of his 3-year-old life.

“It seemed to work out great,” Sherman said. “He showed up in good order.”
