Winter Storm Watch Issued by NWS Wakefield (Eastern Virginia and Southern Maryland) 

ALERT...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WAKEFIELD HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING. 

 * LOCATIONS...PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN VIRGINIA AND THE LOWER MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE. 
* TIMING...WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING. 
* HAZARDS...SNOW AND SLEET LATE WEDNESDAY...BEFORE A CHANGEOVER TO RAIN ON THURSDAY. 
 * ACCUMULATIONS...THE POTENTIAL FOR 4 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET. 
 * IMPACTS...SNOW AND SLEET CAN LEAD TO SLICK AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS AS IT ACCUMULATES ON ROADWAYS. THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BE HEAVY AND WET...AND MAY WEIGH DOWN ON TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES. SPORADIC POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

Instructions: A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW...SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.

Wait! They are giving us more than 24 hours notice. Since the last few storms were forecast last minute, I'm sure this one will change again before Wed.

They've put themselves in a win win situation by not committing to any exact scenario or anything even close.I think we all know that we may or may not get snow,duh.

yep and Wicomico county can't wait. Will be plowed up and ready to go. I forgot their out of salt. A 2 or 3 week delay that's just what this county needs. You bet your last $ come July taxes are going to go thru the roof. Its time to pay the Piper. Oh yea put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Saw them out throwing 'cold patch' into potholes in Beaglin Park and College Ave. Didn't see anyone tamping. When I came by later could hear the stones kicking up even though I stayed off the patch. Not even a good band-aid.
