14 Year Old Tased While In Handcuffs

Pictured: The broken nose and gashes left on a 14-year-old's face after police shot him with a taser while he was handcuffed

A picture of Joseph Williams, 14, has been released after he was arrested and shot with a taser for shoplifting at a Walmart in Tullytown, Pennsylvania.

don't steal, then run after being caught and you won't end up like this...

Typical tho... blame everyone but yourself as a parent and your child, the thief...

Anonymous said...

how about don't tase someone while running and in cuffs. not that you care, but it IS against policy.

this happened to a girl recently and now she is brain dead.

and another lying cop who filled out the report. shot in the face while running away.

both cases they could have been caught easily if the lazy cop had tried. too damn easy to use a taser tho.

next you will be saying it's better than shooting them.

Like Baretta said, don't do the crime if you can not do the time!

Anonymous said...

So do I have this straight? He took off while cuffed? Real smart.

Anonymous said...

Some criminals shoplift from Wal Mart, some criminals wear badges. Sounds like we have both in this story.

Anonymous said...

in some countries they cut off your hands for stealing , next time don't run idiot.

320-How can one be shot in the face while running away?

Looks like a little Obamy.

If this 14 y.o. child had a white face and the policemen were black, the majority of already left comments would NOT be the same as we presently read. First, if he stole from walmart in Salisbury, he would have gone before a judge and released the same day. This kid's mother was NOT allowed to see him for (3) long days, nor did any lawyer see him. Why? His swollen face and broken nose is indicative of a severe beating, which has nothing to do with tasing or running from law enforcement. If this were your child, where would you stand now? Right is right and wrong is wrong. No jury in the world will believe this cop story vs the images..

424, because Mommy said so!

Anonymous said...

That's right, don't take any responsibility, but blame the police because YOU stole from the store.

Anonymous said...

A running perp makes a challenging taser target, and no one wants to volunteer for target practice as the target.

lmclain said...

The police, again, think its their right to dish out the most severe beatings (or death) they can muster without getting too tired of swinging their arms or running out of ammo. It's a f'ing KID, you dumb goons. Maybe the parents didn't do their job. Maybe the KID is a smart mouth delinquent. But you still don't have the legal authority to do what his picture SAYS you did (he sure as hell didn't do that to himself, although it's 50/50 that the police report said he 'resisted' like a maniac and they (the cops) barely escaped with their lives. The cops just haven't beat the right man's kid. One day they will and some cops will die.
The punishment for stealing (or running from the Gestapo) is up to a JUDGE, not some 5'5" wanna-be tough guy who can't control his temper.
I say pick on someone your own size, but I guess that why you beat and shoot KIDS. Real men would beat you to death.

Anonymous said...

545-He ran from the police. He got caught. Real men don't run, and chances are, this kid's father isn't one.

Imclain, 6 years ago my middle daughter was 14, and after what she put this family through, if she had looked like that after a run in with police, I'd have been high-fiving the whole damned department! She's now a mom if two who live with grandma, and fighting heroine addiction.

Yeah, the coddling really helped, as well as all the times she called cops on me claiming child abuse just to see me in cuffs.

But, you have your opinions...

3:09 This boy should have been turned over to his parents, or processed through the juvenile system. It is time that cops start getting assault charges for this kind of stuff. Its outragous that the police dish out their own punishments to citizens and it is clear from this picture that the boy was punished way worse by the cops than the court system would ever be able to. Have you ever sped in your car? How would you like it if they pulled you over and beat the s(*% out of you and then someone said, well you shouldn't have broke the law.

That is exactly my point.

looks to me like he fell down while running with cuffs on. Hey 3:20 HOW ABOUT NO RUNNING AFTER CAUGHT. in 4 years he will be in big boy prison.

Imclain.....blah blah blah....everybody knows you hate anything about government. This kid could have stabbed one of the cops and it still would have been their fault

lmclain said...

You lemmings. Freedom isn't taken away in chunks. It's little by little. You people probably had great grand-parents cheering Hitler as he railed about "getting rid" of the Jews and Gypsies and bankers and mentally retarded and the lazy and enemies of the state. Cheered! Kill them! Beat them to death! Burn their houses and businesses down! CHEERED!!!! So, you stupid stupid stupid cheerleaders, keep cheering. You'll be sorry one day. Soon. Guaranteed. But by then, it will be waaaaaay too late. Polish those Nazi badges you sickening yes-men...

Good work officer, hopefully he wont steal again like the rest of his people.

Yeah real good work. When they sue, and win, it will be taxpayers footing the bill, not some dumb lazy cop.

You're about as smart as they are.

But, you have your opinions...

November 19, 2013 at 5:59 PM

Yeah like you wanting cops to do your job.

Anonymous said...

Imclain, I'm 559, and I mostly agree with the things you post, but you need to understand the 10-17 yer old initiation into the local gangs thing, where they are immune from prosecution and if their parents try to take control, they can have them arrested. The gangs can have these kids do ANYTHING and nothing is ever prosecuted!

Get a grip on this, talk to Judge Beckstead, and admit. There is a problem here.

lmclain said...

" steal again like the rest of his people"? And 7:56, you might want to start hatin' on the government a little bit, too. When it condones (and the State's Attorney's and judges are doing just that) the murder of unarmed kids, the beating of suspects - already in handcuffs -- and an almost endless list of abuses and crimes by those with badges and guns, YOU better start worrying. Remember this - YOU don't get to decide what they don't like and what "deserves" a beating or death. Which was the same problem faced by the above noted cheerleaders of the old day Nazi's. It was too late for them when they finally realized that. Up to that point, they were patriotic citizens supporting their government. Just like you. Think about that. Just for a couple of minutes, for what good it might do you...

Go polish your tin foil hat. Everything isn't a conspiracy.

Anonymous said...

He stole and ran. What should they have done? Hugged him ?

Anonymous said...

Good point 5:55... Bet there is no father. And so the cycle continues....but of course, it is everybody else's fault

More lessons like this need to be learned. Keep our tax money from housing the thousands of youths of all races that are headed for the big house. Strong work PA police force.

Saw the pic, read SBY News comments and the link. From the article:

He was arrested along with two (2) relatives for shoplifting.

While cuffed, presumably behind his back, he decided to be a track star when being placed in the squad car.

Not an expert, but have to believe cops are trained to shoot taser to the trunk because there is more mass there; they will of necessity be close to the perp. If he was making a sudden movement when cop tased the charge may have hit him in unintended spot; ya takes yer chances when you resist.

Down he went with little/no chance to break his fall except with his head.

They took him to hospital and then to the pokey. Mom thinks she can cruise into the station and see him at will, like she may be accustomed to doing at school.

He was released after being processed. No mention of any injury to his 'teammates'.

From what was in the article, sounds like the cops kept it to a minimum.

Not only did the little punk steal, the car he was in sped through a work zone and rammed the back of a police car while trying to get away. The young punk escaped out of the police car and was running away. He was warned several times as he approached rt. 13 that he would be tazed before he was to end up in a section of the highway with concrete dividers in the middle, where he very easily could have been killed by a vehicle. The cop fired the taser as he was looking back over his shoulder to see if he was being pursued and the dart hit him in the shoulder and then the cheek. He fell on his face. I am sure his moms story makes a better case for a settlement, rather than the truth of her thug child behaving badly and getting what he deserved. Remember this Imclain. It will be another rant of yours where you will eat crow. How does it taste? You sure have eaten it a lot.

627-Your example does not compare. If you'd been caught speeding, pulled over, than floored it to get away...well, you'd be in a whole lot more similar position. And yes, you'd probably get the s**t kicked out of you in the process.

Guess what? You would have deserved it. Just like this kid. 14 or 40. Doesn't make a difference.

Anonymous said...

If Obama had a son, he would look and act like this stupid kid, you don't run in handcuffs!

Anonymous said...

He was in a car that rammed a police car. He should be getting assault charges, resisting arrest, and a stupidity charge. But what is more important is that the race card can be placed here and his parent (not plural) thinks she can smell dollars. The funny thing is that one of the officers involved is black. What do you think now?

lmclain said...

We are merely taking about right and wrong. That's the bottom line. Was the kid wrong? Damn right. VERY wrong. But was the cop right to beat him like that while he was in handcuffs?? Hardly. Two wrongs don't make a right. It doesn't matter how you feel about bad parents, or juvenile initiation (THIS wasn't THAT), or his future as a convict, or what he may have "deserved". The police have their job and the courts have theirs, too. Cops seem to confuse the two quite a bit.
8:48...no one mentioned a tin foil hat conspiracy. I referred to the fact that people allow their leaders (or their leader's agents) to do the most extreme things (all in the name of teaching bad guys a "lesson" or whatever the latest rationalization is...). These same people NEVER realize that once that power is given, those IN power don't surrender that 'authority' --- they get MORE ruthless in order to PRESERVE that power. Perhaps you, 8:48, would do well to take a few history courses in between your cheering sessions.
8:40...I grew up with two brothers who have been in and out of prison several times. I completely understand your issues. Believe me I do. But the problem of juvenile crime is MUCH bigger than any ass-whipping a cop can deliver to anyone. Does ANYONE think that beating will turn him into a respectable taxpayer? Anybody?? Huh? Your POLITICIANS have placed these laws into effect. You know, the ones you thought would "change things"... start blaming THEM, for once. But DO NOT cheer or try to justify things that are wrong for BOTH sides.
10:12.... what does race have to do with the police beating a KID (and a SKINNY kid at that) like that? Are you saying as long as it's a black cop, it's okay to be a vigilante? Because that's all this was --- vigilante justice under the color of law. THAT has NEVER worked and that's why vigilante justice is outlawed. At least for regular citizens. Keep cheering and practice your Hitler salutes. Your gonna need to look good at the assembly...bring your own torch.

I've never seen a white collar thief get treated this way....where a suit and carry a briefcase and walk away scott free...

Anonymous said...

Black Thugs and Nazi Cops not much difference!

Anonymous said...

Got just what he deserved. We need more cops like that. It's a shame they didn't break the little thief's hands as well. Should have been shot down like the garbage rat animal he is instead of just being tazed and his mother should be hung for being the POS mother she is. This is the only way to clean up this culture.

Anonymous said...

4:18 PM

wow, hate much?

Anonymous said...

Where did it say that the cop beat him? The cops contend that the injuries came from him fallin, as a result of being tazed for fleeing . Kid caused his own troubles .

Anonymous said...

8:28 i am not a cop however if i have my way i would of shot him in the back of the head, black or white. i am a taxpayer paying for these turds and i have had enough.

Well what do you recommend immy? It kids like that who keep the never ending creation of ridiculous "nazi" laws to come into existence.

Perhaps the white collar criminal knows when the jig is up and simply turns themselves in 3:00?

I might add that these so called "kids" are taught to steal for there piers.

This child was handcuff and tased in the face. If this was one of your children, you all would be ready to sue. This was a punk azz move by grown azz and trained police officer on a 14 year old child. If anyone of these police officers are fathers or mothers, I hope this happens to one of their kids.

Why would it matter if he "assaulted" a cop? That still would not warrant an action like this. It is against, at least some, dept's policy to taze someone who is running while handcuffed.

Why? Because like that young woman who got tazed while running away,(she was within arms reach of the cop), she of course fell, hit her head because she could not catch her fall or protect herself, and now is brain dead.

SHE didn't assault anyone. She panicked and started to run away. The fat cop didn't want to break a sweat so he tazes her.

Big man. Big hero,(to fools like you maybe), and I think it was all over a shoplifting case. Not sure as I forget but nothing that serious regardless.

We all know you're an ex-cop, and are grateful for that. 70 year old, old man living in Fla. And you STILL can't stay off here stalking everyone and stirring the pot.

Go play bingo, shuffleboard, SOMETHING, and keep your outdated and hateful opinions to yourself. Go tell that crap to the silver haired old lady you have your eye on.

She might be senile enough to believe your crap and think you're some hero crime fighter, but we don't.

kthanx
