OCEAN CITY — Next week marks 80 years since the epic storm of 1933 ravaged Ocean City, and while the deluge nearly erased the fledgling resort town, the cataclysmic changes left in its wake changed the course of history along the sleepy barrier island forever.
Significant storms have hit the resort since, most notably the March storm in 1962, and Hurricane Gloria in 1985, which ripped up much of the Boardwalk and served as the catalyst for the building of the seawall and the birth of beach replenishment. Most recently, Hurricane Sandy, which brushed Ocean City last October, smashing the end of the iconic fishing pier before moving on to devastate New Jersey and New York, will likely be remembered for decades. However, the 1933 storm has marked the test of time.
In August 1933, the storm battered the Boardwalk and beachfront properties with massive waves, severe rain and hurricane force winds. The streets of the town were already flooded from four straight days of torrential rains when the wind began to blow and the seas began to rise on Aug. 22.

We need another epic storm to wash away the crime and bs that goes on down there. Like a sharknado.

We do have something coming! It's called "Global Warming".
with the amount of money people make in that town, cops, public works, ff, emt's, etc., there shouldn't be any crime or any other problems there.
If they worked so hard as some claim
11:01 Yeah, and this summer just proves how Global Warming is really going. hehehehehe
Maybe global warming is not the correct term, but everyone can see that we are experiencing climate change.
Which obviously is not created by man 12:51. It's so crazy that man's ego is so big that we think we can cause global warming. We are nothing more than a spec on a fleas *as. The universe is going to do what it's going to do.
cops out numbered 250,000 to 200. give me a break.
Wonder what was the legal position of the landowners of the submerged inlet property... Just "tough luck??"
12:51 Just like we have since the earth was formed. It's a cycle, and always has been.
Where are all the hurricanes we were supposed to get?
When the earth quit "warming" 15 years ago the chicken littles started calling it "climate change".
Want to stump one of these environazies?
Ask then what the correct earth temperature should be.
Funny, the gov has issued a statement that the earth is in a cooling cycle.

Q. What are the most commonly violated laws in Ocean City?
A. Most of the problems in Ocean City are violations of peace and good order statutes. Calls such as disorderly conduct, noise, and disturbing the peace are the most prevalent. Our incidence of violent crime are extremely low for a population the size of Ocean City.

Q. What area do most crimes take place?
A. Most "crimes" in Ocean City are violations of the peace and good order statutes. These can occur anywhere in Town, however, we find that the south end of town has a higher percentage of calls for service than any other geographic area. Consequently, more police officers are assigned to patrol the area south of 15th Street.
There's your break.
However, if you look at some stats, it shows OC has more cops per 100,000 than the Md. average. It also has more crime than the Md. average.
So, the second largest city in Md. ( in season) is a crime ridden dump.
Getting much bang for your buck?
Did Charles Lindberg know about global warming when he took this photo?
Probably not 3:24. I'm sure if he knew he wouldn't have been contributing to it with his airplane. I'm sure by using his plane to take the picture he caused the temperature to rise .00000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of a one trillionth of a tenth of a sixteenth of a half a degree or maybe less. Either way that may have contributed to Hurricane Katrina (butterfly effect) but please don't quote me.
