On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:
"In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia,should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Shari'ya Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that's the state law. Russia does not need minorities. Minorities need Russia, and wewill not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell 'discrimination'. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.”

YEA! Like the minorities that came to America! The Irish! The Italians! The Polish! The Germans.... wait... isn't America founded on immigrant minorities? Sure, I get that there should not be special privleges granted.. that makes sense, but this country IS founded on immigrant minorities.
Sooo...now we want to be like Russia?! You guys are deranged, seriously. As the Chechyans how well this "no minority" thing is working out for them.
Plus, did you ever stop to consider...the people who frequent this blog are actually a minority. How do we know? The result of the last election, of course!

1:04 - correct - but they live the American way of life, obey OUR laws, pay OUR taxes....they weren't allowed to bring THEIR laws with them - the main reason we broke away an founded our own country in the first place.

Hey guys! 1:04 here! It sounds like you don't have a problem with immigrants. You have a problem with social programs, saftey nets, and hand outs. Me too. Don't hate the people taking advantage of what we have allowed our foolish legislators/leaders do. Don't hate the people who came to this country for a better life. Lets place our scorn on the legislators of handouts, and get them and their misguided legislation removed. It's easy to hate someone because they are "brown" or have a different "culture"... but they came here for the same reason YOUR ancestors did, to provide a better life for their families than they could in their homeland. Don't confuse hate for bad policy/legislation for hate of a people (immigrants).
Sounds to me like several of you need to read a few history books. You obviously received your education in American History from the cartoon channel and maybe a viewing of Back to the Future.
I thought this country was founded by the people already here, who fought the British.
The immigrants came later and helped the country grow.

The problem is that America has changed. Immigrants that came in the past were expected to assimilate into the american culture. Due to the political correctness that exists today, America is assimilating to the immigrants. It is an unfortunate fact. My people came to America in the early 1900's. They learned english, worked hard and prospered.
Minorities are not Americans. They should not be considered when making laws. Especially illegal minorities. Laws should be made to marginalize and force minorities to become Americans of leave America where we do not want those who do not want to become a mainstream GOD fearing American. The GOD of the bible preferably.

Look up Teddy Roosevelt's speech to immigrants about becoming, and being, an American. Its a classic. Insipiring. Too truthful to even be talked about in public anymore.
