A tractor trailer turned over on its side due to high winds on the westbound span of the Bay Bridge Wednesday afternoon. Officials closed the span to give emergency responders access.
At 2:30 p.m. radio reports said the eastbound span would be closed as well.
Emergency radio reports said the tractor trailer was on its side, leaning against the guardrail, but that none of the truck was hanging over the side.

This is great. Now O'Malley will try to find a way to tax the wind.
wHEN WILL THEY MAKE THOSE BARRIERS higher ?B
I would NEVER have taken a rig across that bridge today!
WTF is wrong with the dept of Hwys allowing trucks on the bridge it should be CARS only?
Still closed. 600 pm
Hotels around the bridge are getting plenty of business tonight, including my money
The rails are fine. If made higher, they will be weakened by the increased leverage. It held the truck didn't it?
