Winter Storm Watch
Statement as of 2:35 PM EST on January 16, 2013

... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Thursday evening through
late Thursday night...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Winter
Storm Watch... which is in effect from Thursday evening through
late Thursday night.


* Areas affected: the Virginia Northern Neck and Maryland Eastern
Shore.

* Hazards: snow

* accumulations: 2 to 4 inches.

* Timing: snow will mix with rain late Thursday afternoon before
becoming all snow Thursday evening. Snow will end late Thursday
night/early Friday morning.

* Impacts: heaviest snow accumulations will be on grassy areas.
Snowfall is expected to be heavy at times which will lead to
hazardous driving conditions.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
