Weather Event Informational Bulletin

Wicomico County Department of Emergency Services

Weather Forecast National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties, which is in effect from Thursday evening through late Thursday night.  Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches possible.  Snow will mix with rain late Thursday afternoon before becoming all snow Thursday evening.  Snow will end late Thursday night/early Friday morning.

Heaviest snow accumulations will be on grassy areas.  Snowfall is expected to be heavy at times which will lead to hazardous driving conditions.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

Wicomico County Dept. of Emergency Services (DES)

The DES is continuing to monitor the situation in conjunction the National Weather Service and Maryland Emergency Management Agency.  Additional Informational Bulletins will be issued if necessary.

Ah, Here we go, Wicomico Co. will be closed on Friday!!! And it says, POSSIBLE- not a guarantee it will happen!!! It is winter time and 2-4 inches and they are calling it a Winter Storm Watch - 2-4 is nothing!!! Give me a break - that's a dusting!! Also a storm is when we get 8 or more inches of snow and ice and chill factor, winds and etc. Gotta love the panic mode media!! I will still go to work and drive in this snow!!!

Let is snow! I can't wait. Nothing more beautiful and peaceful that watching the snow falling at night. 2-4 inches is perfect. Not enough to inconvience anyone too much but just enough to look pretty for awhile-a short while which works well for snow lovers and haters alike.

Umm.....just so you realize, it is the NATIONAL weather service to determine watches and warnings. If you don't like it, move somewhere else. Maybe they will be glad to have you.

I am praying for cold and snow. If we don't have any cold weather the spring pollen count will be off the charts. Not to mention the stink bugs.
