Black Friday Walmart Strike Being Organized By Workers

Black Friday, which is traditionally one of the biggest shopping days of the year, may come with serious problems for Walmarts nationwide if a grassroots campaign calling for the store's workers to strike comes to fruition.
Making Change at Walmart, a campaign aimed at organizing and strengthening the work force the world's largest private employer, is organizing events for Nov. 23 at Walmart stores nationwide to speak out about issues with pay, worker intimidation and retaliation and scheduling issues.

This is wonderful. Walmart IS slave labor. It's about time these people stand up.

Good for them. They should strike to send a message to the dirty rotten scoundrels in Bentonville , AR. Starting people at $8 an hour with ten plus years experience. And only scheduling 32 hours so they dont have to provide full time benefits, which are still meager at best. Playing on people's desperation in this state of the economy they are partly responsible for. I remember a time when walmart would only sell a product made in america. Now 90% of all their products sold were made in china. We all need to stop feeding that monster and shop and buy local of what's left.

It's not like Wal-Mart is forcing anyone to work there. If they don't like the situation they are free to look for another job. No sympathy from me.

Spoken like the arrogant managers at walmart

I say let `em strike! If conditions are so bad working there, they can quit and find employment elsewhere.

As for the reason WHY Walmart would want to open early, I blame all the nutcases who trample down the doors looking for a so-called bargain.

I will not be shopping anywhere that day, nor the day after ...

Walmart was a big lobby behind the food stamp entitlement expansion so heck with them. They did it to benefit them since they are now the largest grocery retailer. They also did it so more of their employees would benefit and they could continue to pay them less. Anyone who supports Walmart supports Obama and his policies. Corporate welfare and crony capitalism at it's finest.

I love all the comments from Wal-Mart haters but they continue to shop there.

All the people saying "i wont be shopping that day or black friday" are just saying it cause they have no money to do so. Get a job an quit hating people for what they have that you dont.

I haven't stepped foot in a Walmart in probably 10 years. I used to go once in awhile to the Dover DE Walmart when that was one of the first on the shore but shortly realized what they sell is inferiour to what I am used to.
Since knowing about all the Corporate Welfare and Crony Capitalism Walmart engages in as a true conservative, hell will freeze over before I will be hypocritial and shop there.

8:42 I can assure you that ANYONE with REAL money would never be caught dead fighting and acting like a dog in heat just to buy a product on Black Friday.

Tens of thousands will be replaced if this occurs, which is highly doubtful.

Shop first at Ollie's and Big Lots and then only if not able to find what you are looking for at one of these 2 places then go to Walmart.
