Local News Stations Slacking

Hey Joe,

This is sad, my mother in law has more info and video coverage of ocean city
today than we have and she lives 4 hours away in PA! They have a reporter in OC
like the Baltimore stations do.

Publishers Notes: Funny you should mention that. I have been receiving calls again today from
News Stations all across America asking if they could use our material. Today, the Daily Times
has a reporter walking around Downtown desperate for any one to talk to her, (photo below). She
has been around for hours. My guess, they saw our photos of Downtown last night and freaked.

No doubt in my mind that The Daily Times is trying to save face.

They got outperformed, outclassed, by SBYnews. Even with all of their massive financial wall street resources - (GCI trading symbol) - (commentary's note: probably 100 fold in dollars invested verses return) - they got outmuscled and outgunned by SBYnews.

I have got to hand it to your people at SBYnews - the coverage was much better than good - it was simply spectacular.

SBYnews had some of the best raw coverage that I have ever seen in my entire lifetime here on the eastern shore. I have lived here all my life and I have never witnessed anything like this ever before.

Getting what you pay for isn't always true, all the coverage and pictures here were as up to date as you could get, and it didn't cost viewers a single penny.

I guess executive editor/publisher Greg Bassett was sitting at the office, in his sinking ship!

we had to watch balitmore/dc stations for info on the tv, or better yet sbynews.com

They can't do what you do because they have already lost credibility among their followers... who now follow SBYNews. They receive nothing from the public because the public is commenting here! They have no more money to send out reporters because nobody wants to advertise where nobody will see the ads!

Nighty night!

The Daily Times front page today I saw at my parents house showed images of the OC pier I've already seen here, an your photos were days in advance. I asked them why they were still paying for this garbage, they couldn't give an answer. They just complained and said the Newspaper has gone downhill, but the prices keep rising. I told them about the real news in the area Sbynews, but they're old school.

You need to create an app. Even more people would follow you if they could just hit that Sbynews app on their phone instead of a google search, or whatever. Just saying, and I think alot of people would pay for an app to your site, rather than pay the local news apps.

I totally agree with 10:37pm.......pay for the daily times online.....there crazy......i guess they got smart since all there customers were canceling there subscription and reading online....they gotta make every penny they can to stay a float!!!!!!

Or a free app. But I'd pay for it if it was available.

Pay for the app, pay it forward! Any money Joe gets from apps, Joe will make sure that app money goes to people that need it, what's an app gonna cost? 2 days of DT face value? No comparison, app money will go to help those in need.

Kindness is free to give, give more.

Instead of an "app", can't an internet shortcut be placed on any smart device's screen? ATF/Bookmark?

I have Sby News on my phone and use it regularly. The Daily Times is pitiful...so biased, so SLOW to report what we want to know about, and skips so much news. They are an embarassment to this town.

They saw it here first too, WBOC, the stale times, and wmdt (and their right downtown)! So sad!! But THANK YOU JOE!!

They probably figure they can wait and copy it from Joe. Then they will have done their 'job' without breaking a sweat and get paid at same time.

I also have SBYnews on my cell phone.

Simply go to applications, click onto SBYnews - bingo - up comes the latest and greatest.

If you have 3G or 4G cell phone - you can simply input www.sbynews.com.
