Incident: Attempted Murder
Date of Incident: 15 September 2012
Location: Tuscola Blvd., Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Victoria R. Pitts-Maddox, 26, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 15 September 2012 at 10:56 hours, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported incident on Tuscola Avenue near the intersection with Seminole Blvd. Upon arrival, the deputies learned that Pitts-Maddox allegedly tried to run over a pedestrian on Tuscola Avenue.
When that failed, Pitts-Maddox then allegedly jumped from the vehicle while screaming at this pedestrian that Pitts-Maddox was going to kill her. The pedestrian took steps to protect herself, and then contacted the Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, the deputies learned that this incident stemmed from an on-going problem between Pitts- Maddox and this other female subject over a man. The problem had gotten to the point where a warrant against Pitts-Maddox had been obtained four days prior after an incident where Pitts-Maddox came to this same subject’s residence and began breaking windows in her house while threatening to kill her. As on 15 September, deputies had been unable to locate Pitts-Maddox.
Pitts-Maddox was arrested for this incident as well as for the previous incident which produced the already existing warrant. Upon transport to the Central Booking Unit, Pitts-Maddox was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Pitts-Maddox on a bond of $35,000 for the open warrant from 11 September and without bond for the
incident on 15 September.
The Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation was also involved in the investigation of the incident on 15 September 2012.
