Fifty-five percent of small business owners and manufacturers would not have started their businesses in today’s economy, according to a new poll that also reports 69 percent say President Obama’s regulatory policies have hurt their businesses.
“There is far too much uncertainty, too many burdensome regulations and too few policymakers willing to put aside their egos and fulfill their responsibilities to the American people,” said Jay Timmons , president of the National Association of Manufacturers, which commissioned the poll along with the National Federation of Independent Businesses. “To fix this problem, we need immediate action on pro-growth tax and regulatory policies that put manufacturers in the United States in a position to compete and succeed in an ever-more competitive global economy.”

By far the #1 driver in all this is low consumer demand. Skip all the political nonsense. You can tax a man 90% (not advocating such) but if his products are flying off the shelf faster than he can put them there he'll keep hiring and churning out products.
I only started my own business because I got laid off in 2008 after 22 steady years of employment. I never would have tried if the fact of the matter wasn't that no one was hiring in my trade and it was pretty obvious it would be more than 1.5 years before anyone wuold be. To this day, no one is hiring. It's pretty sick out there, and I'm struggling big time.
"Immediate help" is not what Obama cares about. Never has, never will. So, it ain't comin' anytime soon....
Business owners in Maryland get hit with the double whammy - Obama and O'Malley. Not only do they not care about small business, I believe they want them to go away. Big government, big union and the rest go to hell.
