Not effective and not taken seriously due to the potential for fraud.
Maybe a well monitored petition done independantly and not one done on those generic petition sites would be helpful and meaningful.
Just ask Adolph Hitler, Mother Theresa and Howdy Doody. They signed the petition, didn't they?
