After the collapse of Solyndra last summer, Department of Energy Secretary Chu was called to Congress to explain the bad decision making that led to a $500 million dollar loss for taxpayers.
Chu's testimony in November 2011 was widely regarded as self-serving nonsense. TheWashington Post awarded his claims about the success of the DOE loan program with three Pinocchios , noting that contemporaneous emails should have alerted decision makers that the solar market was changing.

It was NEVER about "solar energy". Anyone who thinks it was is one of the people who still think Santa Claus is a real person. It was about PAYOFFS to their contributors, friends, and cohorts. Contribute to their campaign and in a year or so, they will arrange MIILIONS in taxpayer loans that you can do with as you please (mainly pay executives-- the contributors) of those companies HUGE salaries, bonuses, and perks). Even when those conections are publicly revealed, the stupid American electorate doesn't even blink. They (the politicians) aren't afraid of ANY revelation of their shameless dealings and scams. Nothing ever happens. Keep voting. It reassures those snakes that our IQ is dropping like a rock tossed in a lake.
