The U.S. Postal Service said Monday its decision to halt the closing of more than 3,700 post offices includes roughly 600 urban and suburban postal branch offices and satellite stations.
The facilities in many cities serve as neighborhood post offices. The Postal Service
announced last year that it was looking at closing up to 252
mail-processing centers and 3,700 post offices, many of them in rural
areas, as part of a plan to save some $6.5 billion a year.
"I
guess I would say I'm cautiously excited," said Thomasine Derricks,
president of the American Postal Workers Union in Baltimore that
represents more than 3,000 workers in Maryland. "We are still realy
looking forward to Congress getting involved in the situation," she
said.

yes, we need a post office in Nanticoke, Bivalve, and Tyaskin. We also need them in Parsonsburg, Pittsville, Powellville and Willards. No wonder they're going bust.
I don't think there is a post office in Powelville anymore. I could be wrong. I agree they should close some of the others. Willards has a newer post office with room to expand if needed. Let them take over the Pittsville route. It's really not that far to drive from Pittsville to Parsonsburg or Willards. They could even leave the PO boxes there just for the locals and just close the window.
