Verizon Wireless to Charge for Phone Upgrades

Verizon Wireless, the country’s largest cellphone company, says it will start charging $30 every time a subscriber wants to upgrade to a new phone.

Other phone companies have introduced similar fees. Competitor AT&T Inc. raised its fee from $18 to $36 this year.

Verizon says it will start charging the fee on April 22, and it will help fund customer support and online educational tools.

I personally haven't had any problems with Verizon. As with any carrier you get your perks and negatives. I have been with about all out there and Verizon is the best of them all. IMO

I have only had verizon and I don't have a problem with them either, at least as far as cell phones go. Their customer service for land lines sucks. I am convinced there is not a single person in that part of the company that knows ANYTHING. I have spoken to several trying to get a problem fixed that they created. It took me 6 months and about 10 phone calls to finally get it right.

that aint no problem either! i'll just cut them off like i did comcast! imma do my part to let verizon and comcast let greed take them down.

I doubt very seriously that Verizon and Comcast won't be going anywhere none too soon. As stated above ALL companies have their positives and negatives. It's a matter of choice and what you are looking for. And from what I see those two companies will probably surpass most. Everyone has their opinions and a chance to choose. If you don't like Verizon go elsewhere but guarantee you this you will find something wrong in every company.

I hate when I have to call Verizon about my land line. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.I always write the date time and persons Extension number down so when I have to call back and its not fixed I can cuss them out. I hate this company true their cell phone service is great but the one billing sucks they hide charges in the bill you need to be a lawyer to read it.Every month I look though it and have to call billing they have added an extra charge that I did not authorize what a pain. They are crooks the one billing you think would be easier but the bills are so detailed and 9 pages long thats how they sneak stuff in.They think you will not go through it but I do.
