At about 3:15 p.m. today, police bomb detection teams completed searching the last school in Kent County and reported that no explosive devices were found in any of the schools searched. All facilities have been cleared by police.

Allied teams of state, county and local police responded to Kent County after a note found on the door of the Kent County Middle School this morning indicated bombs had been placed in each Kent County school and would detonate today. Schools had been evacuated and closed while police responded and conducted the searches.

Police searched seven public schools in Kent County. As a precaution, the three private schools were also notified of the threat. Officials at those schools decided to close and requested police bomb sweeps of their facilities. In all, police searched ten school facilities today in Kent County.

No arrests have been made in connection with the person or persons responsible for making the bomb threat. The investigation is continuing.
