Taliban Vows Revenge for U.S. Soldier's Shooting Rampage

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- The Afghan Taliban said Monday that its fighters would exact revenge for 16 people left dead after an American soldier went on a house-to-house shooting rampage in two villages a day earlier.

Describing U.S. forces as "sick minded American savages," the Taliban said in a statement on its website that it would mete out punishment for the "barbaric actions." The Taliban, an Islamic fundamentalist movement, has battled the U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan for a decade.

U.S. officials have expressed shock and sadness over the attack, while Afghan leaders have angrily condemned it. President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan called it an "unforgivable" crime, noting that nine of the dead were children.

The killings have fueled fears of intensified ire directed at international forces in the country following deadly riots over the burning of Qurans by U.S. troops late last month.

When a follower of the worlds most peaceful religion straps on a suicide belt, walks into a local market and blows himself up, killing 20-30 innocent women and children buying vegetables, not a single protest is heard. Me thinks they protest for drama and not from conviction. Get OUT of this thirld world Stone Age cesspool of tribalism and murder. Now. 11 years of "conflict and we haven't made a dent in ANYTHING. Except the population of healthy young American men and women.....

Oh lmclain we've made another dent alright! Another dent right in the defense contrators excess supply of weapons and machinery. That dent equates to big $$$$. When are the rest of the folks going to get it?

The "rest of the folks" have fallen for the speeches about how we have "enemies" who need to be fought (even though Stevie Wonder can see that we don't really fight our enemies, or seek to destroy them). And, further, they think, and wholeheatedly believe, that our "leaders" are not beholden to rich corporate interests and do not seek to enrich themselves (by whatever means necessary) and expand their power, but merely are trying to "serve" us and have only OUR (we, the people) best interests in mind. It's the same reasoning that got millions of Jews to leave their neighborhoods and board trains straight to the gas chambers. The truth didn't dawn on some of THEM until they watched their children get thrown off the third story roof and their wives stripped and shot. By then it was too late to complain. Now, in the USA, when the police search your home without warrant, download the contents of your cell phone (after a traffic stop!!), tear gas, pepper spray, beat and kill protesters of government policies, stop innocent citizens to search them for POSSIBLE criminal activity, etc., millions of sheep click their heels and cheer! Just like in 1939 Germany.
