WASHINGTON – A majority of Americans disapprove of the way President Barack Obama is handling the economy -- with a record number who "disapprove strongly" -- amid soaring gas prices and an uncertain fiscal future, a new Washington Post-ABC News survey out Monday found.
The poll found that 50 percent of those surveyed strongly disapprove of Obama's economic performance -- the highest in the poll's history. A total of 59 percent gave the president negative marks on the economy.
With rising gas prices hitting Americans at the pump, 65 percent said they found Obama's handling of the issue unsatisfactory. Of that number, 52 percent were said to "disapprove strongly" and only 14 percent "approve strongly" of Obama's performance on gas prices.

If that is what it takes to defeat this bastard, I hope gas is $6.00 a gallon in November.
it's a shame it took the gas price increase to finally wake people up. this presidents numbers should have fallen months and months ago when we realized he was trampling on the constitution and had definate marxist leanings. when his appointed czars were avowed communists and when he bowed to the saudi prince, when he shoved the health care bill through before it was read and against the majority of the "peoples will". when he continued the "illegal" selective bail outs and when he took over the auto industry and paid off his labor union cronies and much more.
the american citizens need to ask themselves; what are they tolerating? are they like the frog in warm water? are they easily led? do they not care about our constitution and bill of rights?
are they so interested in watching the latest sit-com or stupid movie or sports that no attention is being paid to what is happening to our dear country?
please stay awake and pay attention to what has happened and what continues to happen so you can vote for anyone but obama in november.
If anyone is awake they would realize their vote means nothing. They allow you to vote, for now, to make you feel like you have a say in the matters.
You don't. People are not elected, they are selected. The corrupt little engine keeps right on chugging along with the same powerful groups calling the shots that have been around for millennia.
I think his stupid stance on the pipline and the jobs it would have created have come home to bite him. We can only hope!
contrary to 3:54, your vote still does count. you must be vigilant as well. get involved and watch for fraud, dead people voting, illegal citizens voting, voting more than once and on and on.
hold your reps feet to the fire. by the way, this part of citizenship never ends. we must keep out eyes open. we must work to keep our free republic. our founders warned us of this.
if you are tuned out and lazy and will follow anything your leaders tell you then you deserve what you get.
9:36 yeah, it's that pipeline decision driving prices. It's not like oil was even higher just before the recession. And how dare those Nebraskans, that liberal stronghold, actually worry about protecting their water.
10:59 "defeat this bastard"? your statement is as dumb as you clearly are...show some respect for the position...3:54 makes a good point. 9:36 you need to better inform yourself on that situation...the XL pipeline will not support(or be created for) the U.S. demand nor create the amount of jobs in the U.S. you think it will.

lol Well if they see a corpse walking into a voting booth I'm pretty sure they could spot a dead person voting.
But other than that how would you propose a regular citizen conduct the surveillance and background checks on the other issues you mention?
You did make me chuckle though. You naivete would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
But it's okay, believe what you wish if it gets you through the night.
Answer me this, if people's votes counted like you wish to claim, Why didn't Al Gore become president after he won the election with the most votes?
The electoral college, right.
So I guess people's votes count as long as they are in agreement with the electoral college? Is that about right?
So just how much did you pay for that bridge anyway?
